Finally ordered my suspension parts - now question on install $

got the neuspeed front strut bar and the comptech sways

anyway

my dealership is really reluctant to do it. I'm sure as hell not going to do the install.

I have the names of 3 places who will do this sort of thing. Before I call - how long do these installs take? What do you think would be a fair price?

I feel like a doe at deerhunting season calling these places - I'll pay but I don't want to be ripped off.

Help out a sister!

TIA!

Leslie

The strut tower bar would only take about 10 minutes to install. As for the sways, any shop with a lift should be able to put them on in an hour or so -- soup to nuts.

Leslie, if i was in MA i would install the strut bar for you. Are there any MA TL owners that could help her out with that?

As, for springs, i think i paid $200 for the install at the dealer. Check out the yellow pgs, any reputable shop should be able to do it.

Leslie, I can help you with the upper strut. Let me see if my friend will do the sways for you. Find out how much shops are charging you, I think it will be around $150 for the sways.

I feel partly responsible for this upgrade. I let her drive my car at the last MA meet and she liked the handling so much that she went ahead and purchased the parts. Besides, she live near me, no big deal!

Alot of people decide to buy mods after seeing them on other peoples cars. Thats what happened to me. I saw the Inspire tails on Black TL's car at a meet and i had to have them too.

You know you are! Steve saw the glint in my eye after I got out of his car - hehe! As if I didn't drive fast enough.....

I just needed to hear some ballpark figures. I had no idea - so if I go to the place I can tell if they're being up front w/ me.

Thanks so much for offering to help - I'll let you know the gruesome details when I call.

Thanks Steve!

The Strut bar is easy, a simple unscrew a few nuts, put the bar on and replace the nuts. Shouldnt take longer than a few minutes. Give Phantom some food, and Im sure hed be glad to do it, I would if I lived near by. :p

As far as the sways go, they are not very difficult, but they are tedious and time consuming. Parke Ave charges $75 to install it themselves. With Markup at a local import tuner shop I wouldnt pay 1 cent more than $125 including tax and tip.

Good Luck and take it easy carving through those turns.
