finally have time

April vacation is comming up and i want to finally start to do some mods to my car (NBP 02 TL-P). the first thing i want to get done is tinting the windows but in Mass. the limit is 35% and i want to kno if it looks good/ is worth only getting 35%. second i want to kno if its really worth taking off the intake resonator, i would like a deeper sound but i want to kno if i should just get a cold air intake. lastly i want to clear and black out the headlights and i really havent ever done anything to a car before so i want to kno if its hard to take out the headlights, ill probably be able to figure it out but i just need to kno how long it will take.

thanks, Mark

i have 35% all around also due to RI where the limit is 70%, aka no tint.

do tint the windows.. looks great.

if you can't afford cold air.. remove the resonator and get K&N drop in filter.. i actually have a CAI and a K&N drop in filter for the airbox.

headlights are easy. go through the DIY section. read it through a few times..
i actually had to get myself together to actually open them up.. after doing it once, its like replacing your air filter

I have 35% all around. It's not really dark, but not light by any means. At night it looks great. I guess it's better to be safe then sorry?

I don't think it does anything to remove the resonator, but that's my opinion. Look in the BM for a used CAI. There's comptech, aem, injen, etc.

i have 35%.... looks dark on my SSM w/ebony interior on rainy days and at night, looks decent during the day... i would have someone to help you pull the headlights apart after baking them... that will make it a lot easier

that intake resonator is like freeing up so much restriction. of course saves some weight.. instead of air being sucked up from a small hole to a big box to through another small hole, it would go straight to the airbox where the filter is and in greater volume..

and have you seen where that intake resonator sucks in air from? there's a funnel piece that sucks it up from the bay area near the grill but not directly from the grill so when in floody days, it like a snorkel.. but honestly.. does it seriously flood 3-4 feet high often?

there really can't be any gain from removing a resonator.. its more for the sound. i mean if you're broke and bored, then go on ahead. i'm just saying, rather than removing that and buying a drop in k&n filter, just save up for a used cai.

and come on.. the amount of weight you save is negligible.

there is a gain from removing the resonator and putting in a K&N drop in filter... not a BIG gain but its still a gain.. mostly anything to be less restrictive can give gains..

nobody dynoed with it.. but shit, if people fund me the money for a dyno.. i'll go do 5 tests..

stock airbox with resonator...

stock airbox without resonator..

airbox with K&N drop with resonator..

airbox with K&N drop without resonator..

CAI

35% will look darker due to the black interior.

I have 15% on my WDP and it looks good. Since my windshield isn't tinted, sometimes the front windows look a little lighter than the back.

Go with what you feel best with. Afterall, it is your car.

I had 35% on my car in RI. I had to take it off recently to pass inspection but I am getting 20% as soon as I get my car back. I took off my resonator on my 1st gen and you can only notice a difference when you get on the gas. If you cannot afford a CAI right now then I would remove the resonator because you are going to have to remove it eventually so why not get it out of the way now.
