Red face It Finally Happen

Okay guys I finally got the creaking seat problem. My car is 17 months old now but I just hit 12,000 miles today. The problem happen Saturday when I adjusted the seat.
This means this problem can happen at any time. In the past 17 moths I have adjusted the seat more than a few times but it creaked that day. What I remember doing at the time was moving the seat bottom back along with back part. When I got back in the city after a highway trip on every turn in the city the seat cracked. I did not drive the car again until today. This mourning every turn I did makes the seat do it. Now I readjusted the seat up & moved the lumbar lever & it did not do it on the trip back. I hit more bumps than most of you will ever see. This is because I live in DC & we have our share of bad streets. I guess it may have been the way the seat was position. I will see if it will do it again but on every turn this mourning it craked.

That would be nice but if its the same problem some of you have had I feel the creak/crack or pop of the seat.

When I had the creaking problem, I traced it to the base of the seatbelt buckle assembly. I doused that area with WD-40, and it cleared up.

And I'll bet Boston streets are every bit as bad as DC's!

I had the rocking drivers seat, had that fixed during my last service.... have a creak/squeak on the passenger side seat that comes and goes, still can't trace it.. oh well..
