When you say remove the hanger, are you talking about the rubber piece or both the rubber piece and the actual metal "U" that has 2 bolts connect to the bottom of the car??

well i installed my headers this week. and stripped a bolt and i cant get it out. One of the bolts connected to the Cat. so im going to take it up to the shop and have them drill it out and tap it. then replace it with a new bolt. i have a slight exhaust leak as it sits now. and its annoying.

Yes, it's an XS Exhaust, all stainless catback. Here's a crummy picture, I have better at home.
Right now I have their engineers straightening out a few fitment problems. I had them on the car and they sound great! My XS headers are the bomb! My car is really fast now. Can't wait to catch some ricers at a light. I'll keep everyone posted on the exhaust.

^Looks pretty solid for a good price.
Only thing I dislike is the oval canisters.. not really a fan of them but thats just me. Looks like almost everyone will be upgrading their exhaust pretty soon lol

Rpappi: The rattling, was this occuring before or after you brought the car to the shop? Did you check to make sure all of your bolts are nice and tight?

wow there is really a power difference. if its raining 1-2 gears are useless. and 3rd i can break it loose. but im still having the rattleing issue. it only happens when its cold and sounds like a penny is being tossed around and my heat shield is tight. and everything else is tight. i cant figure it out. i was thinking if i were to add some weight to the header piping maybe that might stop the sound. it does it when its warm but it is a different sound more of a humming (vibrating in the pedal). does anyone have any suggestions??????

My experiance with the X-S headers. On my 2000 TL-P
Well noise wise it kinda started to sound like a civic at about 1700RPM. pretty much it would give me a stupid sound at the 1700RPM mark. Power wise didn't notice any difference other than that when i had it flored the tires would chirp shifting from 1st to secound which they didn't with the oem. Also it could here a fizzing sound at high RPM's. Bottom line i don't think i will install these on my 02 TL-S. wasen't worth it for it. I might put the Comptech Headers. as long as they don't have any stupid rattles or cheap sounds coming from them.

Any further input guys? At this point I might take my car into a credible exhaust shop and see if they have any solution.

mine makes the sound at like 2-3k i havent tracked it to a spacific spot. and if i rev it high on the down fall of the revs it makes it in a few places. i can kinda hear it when i rev it. but only for a second. it sounds like alot of the sound is actually coming out of the tips themselfs. so i have sounds coming from 2 diff places. im about to do the same and bring it to a good muffler shop.

Im just pickn bro. Pizaul has a good idea there. when I tightened mine down I first aligned and loosely bolted everything together and then tightened everything once all was in. You could come to the austin TX meet we are putting together and I will be happy to check you setup out.

I was looking at my set and I'm pretty happy with all the welds and the smoothness of the pipes interior.
HOWEVER, when feeling the smoothness of the pipes interior, I noticed that there is a small obstruction in the collector pipe that has the kink in it to accomodate the 6spd. It spans about 1/8 the circumference of the pipe and is not very high(a few mm's high ). It is like a little semi rounded kinda smooth - mound/hill that is just sitting on the floor of the pipes interior. Anyone else notice this???? You have to stick your finger pretty far up the pipe to feel it, but it is right in the bend.
I hope this does not hurt performance???

doubt full. if it really worries you get a dremel with an extention bit and a light sander bit and smooth it out. make sure you get all the little shavings out. (dont know what they would do to the cat). im sure a shop vac set on blow would take care of that real quick.

Upon further inspection, the bump is even smaller than I thought. About 6mm long and about 2-3mm high.
Yeah, I'm not worried. It feels a lot bigger than it is, once you get a look at it.

Don't worry about the bump sounds likes it won't be a problem.I never noticed anything major on my set.
