I am the one on the cl side of the board that found the head to header gasket is indeed made from recycled battery casings. peal it apart and look on the inside of the metal sheeting on each side of the gasket. the print is still there. I dont care what anyone says mine had rust on them when I got them and they will rust horribly on your installation. also, I broke two of the bolts during the install and bought some new ones from lowes. save yourself some trouble and buy oem gaskets for header to a-pipe and header to head. as for bolts you are on your own. I went to lowes and the ones i got dont seem to be much better but they worked. I have had my XS headers now for about a month and I love them. no resonance and they sound great. more like a g35. very noticable power gain. it took me 5 hours to install with a friend and lots of beer. that included broken bolts and going to the store twice.

These look very promising as far as I'm concerned. The only thing we don't know about is longevity. Everyone who has these on seems to be very nicely pleased. I think this is the route I'll take as opposed to the more expensive DC way.

Just FYI there are a few cases of resonance with these headers so people know before buying them that they might have this problem. Look in the CL forum.

Just like some people started with comptech springs/sways and ended up with rusted metal... And I've heard some people have had trouble with the DC headers?

Yes, there was an issue with a few customers with the Comtpech springs and I think I saw 1 or 2 issues with the sway bars. The powder coater they were using didn't powder coat them properly or something to that end. Comptech resolved the problem by allowing Eibach to make the springs for that vehicle. They, unlike many companies, resolved the issue and stood by their product. Ask NSXNEXT, he was credited for his springs 5 years after he bought his springs b/c of his issue. The only issue with the DC Sports was the gaskets. That problem can be solved by ordering 2 new metal gaskets. Comptech offers customer service, a 3 year warranty, and stands by their product. You take a chance with this product, especially b/c of this company. Just be careful and ppl should be aware of what they are buying and who they are buying it from so they know what they're getting into.

Have a question, I read that you can get OEM O-Ring Gaskets, do these even exist? Or would would replace them in general?

That you will have a difficult time finding an answer to since everyone just started jumping on the bandwagon for these headers. At most maybe someone has had them on for a month.

I should correct this statement. There may be a handful of ppl who have had these on longer than that but I don't know how many or for how long. They have been on the market for a while and I'm assuming someone must have bought them before.

Check over at the CL forum... it's better known over there, and i think more CLs have them than TLs.

man i love how excelerate keeps chimming in about these headers! LOL!

Lord Helmet on the CL side has had them for almost two years and he has had no probs. he even bought a second set incase his break. I now have had these on for almost two months and I have been running them extreemly hard with no probs. I got the stronger 8.8 bolts and header to head OEM gaskets. I used the XS o-ring gaskets and they seemed to work fine but I do know of one person who had to replace an o-ring gasket. I think they tightened down without the o-ring in the right spot. these are great even if they only last a year. We will see.

A few days?.. dude, don't wait, just get it while it's still cheap!

As for the XS O-Ring gaskets... how long do you think they'd last for? I mean, even though they're cheap and the contacts between the headers and downpipe have three bolts holding them together, wouldn't the connection be sturdy enough to not have to worry about an exhaust leak even from the cheap gaskets?

Group Buy? For what? A cheaper price? Why don't you just go on ebay and get them? There are usually 5-10 auctions at the same time. This is the cheapest you willl ever get headers for our cars. You should buy them now before the vendor notices a spike in sales with this and decides to raise the price!

Another thing... How does one remove the O2 sensor from the old downpipe to put in the new one? Mine isn't budging at all.

I'll be putting on the XS headers in roughly a month or so. Give or take a paycheck, and depending on how much I'm making! AHHH I hate being young!

What is wrong with me chiming in? Because I am a vendor I am not entitled to give my opinion or state facts? This is a forum still last time I checked. And sharing information or experiences is part of the process so therefore I will continue to share what I know. And notice I corrected my own statement 5 mins after I posted the first one:

There seems to be a bit of a buzzing resonance that has developed... on my XS Headers... happens between 2-3k RPM... It developed a few days after I had the headers put on, maybe I need to get some bolts tightened? I'm not sure, i'll let you guys know. It sounds a lot like when my heat shield was loose on the cat; i'm not even sure if i still have a heat shield anymore though, i think i just had mine pulled off.

Well if the heat shield were loose you would get a rattling sound. Resonance has a different sound. I'm trying to figure out what is the best comparisoin for resonance.. well you knew ... you had Megan's before and they had resonance right?

OK guys...I'll probably order them next month since my car is getting a repaint.

We gotta work together and don't out bid each other....

best is to leave it alone if its been bid already.

It's like a rattling sound, but i can feel it in the steering wheel which never happened when i had a loose cat shield. The sound isn't anything like the Megan's.

silly QUESTION:

My TL-S is stock and if I buy this set of Headers, Will it fit & connect to my stock exhaust setup?

I hope I don't have buy or create a custom cat back to fit everything properly.

anyone know what I am talking about?
