Finally got my baby back... (a dead tranny story)
I just got my 2002 TL Type S back from getting my tranny replaced (yesterday afternoon). She went in with 36,106 miles and came out with 36,148 miles... does that seem alot to all of you when you had your tranny's replaced?
Anyway... I played around with her last night and the shifting now feels different. It is like it wants to keep shifting but it holds back a little between gears. I guess that is what the new computer chip does so we don't blow additional tranny's.
She still pulls pretty good and the power is there...
I will update everyone on how it feels after break in, but as of now... I am unsure....

The additional mileage doesn't seem out of line. I didn't pay attention to what mine had when I got it back (second replacement last month). Considering they test drive the car after installation (and I would rather have them find a problem than me), the more miles the better, LOL.
As for the feel of the tranny, the concensus seems to be that it shifts softer than before, like it is trying to coax the car from gear to gear. It makes for a smoother shift, but probably at some power loss.
Anyway, glad you got your car back. :-)

I just took a 45 min drive around my neighborhood in Farmingdale NY...
Not too bad keeping her in Auto the whole time. The shifts were brisk depending on how hard I was accelerating... (normal). The slight hesitation is still there in SS mode, maybe I have to get used to how the new shifting works... but it seemed to perform. I still got a push back feeling when I downshifted from 3 to 2 rounding a couple of corners...
I will update again when I take a drive tomorrow... I possibly will go up to Albany NY with my wife this weekend so it will allow me to play on the NY State Thruway a little...
More updates to come

mine actually feels faster now due to better shifting and it holds gear a little longer with the new ecu. and during normal driving its alot smoother shifting
