Finally bought the TL-S!
Hi all,
I've been reading this forum for the past month and got many valuable information about the new TL Type-S. I finally went to the dealer this weekend and bought it. I opted for satin silver with nav. I also went for the aero kit and spoiler after seeing the pictures posted on this forum. The delivery is Tuesday and I can't wait! It's going to be a great step up from my 10 year old Integra. Anyone want to buy an Integra?
This is a great forum for all TL-S owners.

One interesting thing the salesman told me about the break-in period is that there's no limit on how fast you can drive, just vary the speed. It's going to be fun...

Don't get caught up in the excitement Tuesday that you have finally gotten YOUR car. Look it over carefully and make sure everything is A-OK before you drive it off the lot. It's easier to get the dealer to take care of any small matter BEFORE you actually take possession of the vehicle. Other than that you'll be smokin'!

Dyno'd a buddies new engine this weekend. This was a newly built motor for a race car but applies to nearly all motors. After being hooked up it was started and had run for less than 2 minutes it was immediatly spun up to 8000 rpm. When I asked the engine builder why there is not a break in period he replied..."the best thing for any gas engine when new is to run it to red line often when breaking it in"
So.. I floor my car to red line every day- always have anyway!!!
HAPPY MOTORING!!
p.s. the engine made 760HP at the crank..

OK, I picked up the car Tuesday evening. Here are some first impressions.
I have to say the aero kit and the tint really makes the car look mean. The car does have uneven tail pipe problem that other members have mentioned. Dealer will adjust it next time I am there to get my plates. I drove around the block a little...very nice. Sound dampening is pretty good. Played with the navigation system and the stereo. Not much use for the nav system yet, but I can definitely see the use in the future. The stereo is pretty good for a factory unit. So far, everything is pretty solid. It's a very well built car.
