Filed a Complaint with BBB-Need Your Help
Hello to you all.
I have just filed a complaint with BBB Autoline against Acura for the transmission defect in my car (TL Type S 2002). I believe that the faulty transmission is a safety issue that puts myself, any passenger and others on the road at risk of injury. I am no longer willing to drive the vehicle any appreciable distance and I am also weary of selling the car to a third party due to the safety of the car.
I have had 3 transmission replacements in this car which has 79K miles. The first one was done at 24K. I was assured that it would last, it did not.
Since NHTSA has not forced Acura to buy back these cars I feel compelled to act on my own. Thanks to PeterUbers and others on the forum I have decide to act through the BBB.
What I ask of you in this Acura forum is to posts some of your testimonials about transmission failures you have experienced that I may present to the Arbiter and Acura.
Thanks for reading

Unfortunately, you are over 50K miles (79K) to be exact. I've endured 3 tranny's as well, so I know how you feel. However, Acura has replaced you tranny for free everytime, likely without hassels. If there were injuries due to a failure, you can file a civil suit.
Your path has been tried before by others, and has not gotten much of anywhere when the mileage has been outside the true 50K powertrain waranty. Good luck, however.
