Hi fellow TL'ers

I have a few problems with my 99TL.

1) The moonroof and the back left window don't open anymore.
2) At very low speeds under 10k or so the car makes clunking sounds coming from the front axel when turning.

Any ideas on these? Anyone had these problems?

The window and sunroof issue is probably caused by a bad regulator/window motor or switch. Usually when I have issues that I can't troubleshoot. I just bring it to the dealer and let them find out what it is, and then I buy the part and install myself to save money.
Did you check all the fuses? You might want to take apart the door panel and use the switch and regulator from the opposite door to narrow down the problem. Also check if there is power going to the window motor.

Also the wheel noise is probably caused by a faulty bearing, you'll need to take it to the shop to do this.

 

Clunking sound: Check the end links on the front sway bar. Had the same problem and that fixed it right up.

 

The noise that you hear when you turn, is more than likely your CV joint.... If you go to an open parking lot, and start going around in a tight circle, with your steering wheel turned fully to either direction, and you hear this noise, it is your CV joint.

Do this test going left and right. Not to expensive to replace. Hope that helps!
