ok im bored and have some $$ to blow, so i was thinking about using a black carbon fiber sheet off ebay to lay it over my hood. Before anyone sayz hell no, remember its not like anyone will know its not acutally a carbon fiber hood, and if it looks fake when i put it on, it will just come off. So vote, its going onto a SSM 02 type s.

I have no artistic ability, so I wonder if I should find someone who does window tint to lay this on so I dont F$#ck it up.

Personally, I think Carbon Fiber, to improve *looks* is WAY over-rated.

To reduce weight and improve performance, OK, I get that, whether it looks good or not. But for looks only -

There is a reason they don't make Carbon fiber hoods for our cars. They aren't "sport compacts" I think it would look VERY out of place.

You may want to go to a website where nobody trys anything new and just alternates the left and right thumb up the ass (see tom green movie).

Try it, you can always take it off.

And yes, you may want to have someone who does tint do it if you haven't worked with wrapping before, especially something that big.

go for it. it could look ok.
on the other hand its a fake CF hood. the word RICE comes to mind. As mentioned these are luxury cars, not rice-rockets.

As a general rule of thumb, never put anything on your car that can be described by the word "faux".

i've got a real carbon fiber on my NBP, if u want some pics i can brave the cold and snap a few for you. it really doesnt look that great, it'd rather have an nbp vs unpainted carbon fiber

No, I just don't think this is the "type" of car for that look. An actual carbon fiber hood that reduces weight is another story. It's your car and you can do to it whatever you want. You made a poll, and I voted. That was my opinion.

Even though I agree with the statement above, I don't think they would look out of place, if done right and of course if it is an actual carbon fiber hood, not just a layover.

To the OP, either have a tint guy or a place that does clear bras to do it. They would probably be a better shot than the tint place since they are used to putting things on the hood instead of the inside of windows.

If your car was white with dark wheels and slammed that would be sick.
