Does/should the factory sound system head unit in a 2002 TL-S play CD/RW burned cds??? Seem liked I tried a burned cd when I first got the car and it didn't play.

CD/R vs CD/RW ????

Could the problem possibly be from using a CD/RW disc instead of just a CD/R disc?? Pretty sure the one I tried was a CD/RW.

mine used to play burn cd-r's, then it kept jamming and failed.

now i have a kenwood after market headunit, plays anything i put in it.

i really dont recommend putting burned cd's in the stock head unit, it has a history of jamming which many will complain about here.

i've never had that happen. =]

i take my key and "shave" the edges so its smoothened and have no such stickers and sstuff as labels.

^ I use to smooth the edges with a pencil.

Mine plays CDR but only some CDRW's... for some reason it will play if there's less than 10 tracks on it lol but if I burn more than 10 it won't play.. strange..

CD-RW usually won't work because I believe it burns differently and CD-RWs are made differently, specifically the burning layer. I would stick to strictly CD-Rs when making audio CDs. Also you may want to check you didn't burn the CD-RW as an mp3 CD rather than an audio CD. Meaning the burned as a .mp3 instead of a .cda.

Thanks

Thanks WDPTLS and klectic. I tried two different CD/RW and they definitely don't work. I'll try a CD/R and see if how that works-I bet that is the answer.

For me, I tend to find that burning at low speeds helps play the CD better. Usually when I burn CDs at higher speeds, the later songs on the CD tend to have a static/scratching noise. I usually burn at 4x.

Update

Burned an CD/R disc at 4X as an audio CD .cda last night and it worked

But on the downside, I discovered that for some reason, my driver's door speaker is no longer working now.

I've had CD-RWs work before. But the problem is with jamming which I think will happen to anY CD. I figured out how to fix it but the tiny springs that cause the problem are impossible to find and I've given up. Blitzsafe FTW!
