Question Factory Accessories?

When i go to pick up my car, do you guy recommend any Factory Accessories? Like is the CD Changer a good deal? Is $1000 bucks really good for a spoiler? The chrome rims for $2K, can't i just put 1K on it and get my own? I'm very new at this car buying thing, my last car was a 300zx, and i got that for my 16th birthday.. :-) So, if its possible, could you guys help me out with what i should tell the dealer to install for me when i go to pick up the car?

(right now i bought the car with nothing on it, told them i will make up my mind about what it needs once i actually get to see the car. Never seen a Silver on black with Nav.)

Thanks a lot.
Behnam From LA.
Silver on Ebony w/Nav Los Angeles.

PS. My dealer called me and told me that i "might" have the car by tonight, but if i don't, i will have it by tomorrow.. (well last time i heard that was .. hmm a 1 1/2 weeks ago. so i really don't think i'm gonna get it anytime soon)

PSS. I get a kick out of putting stuff on cars, so does my brother. He has a Brabus CLK, pretty nice car, i will post some pictures if he has some online. (always wanted to be better than him, i was on the M3 waiting list (#12 - Canceled after accident), then i crashed my 300zx.. and.. well.. 17 + M3 + 1 point = HELL NO! :-(

I wouldn't get any accessories from the dealer. First off, they rip you off. You can get nice, actually REALLY nice aftermarket rims for 2k. As for the spoiler, 1k? No way. You can get one from this site for like 150 unpainted and then maybe 200 for the paint and labor?

There is no accessories from the dealer that you can't get elsewhere for A LOT cheaper(navi excluded).

oh yea BRABUS CLK? whoa nice!

I agree with PhiTL, buying aftermarket products will not only save you money, it also gives you more of a selection. But a CLK man thats going to be a tough fight!

i bought my accessories from the dealer at the time of sale. I did this because I didn't feel like dealing with another service shop and if you buy the accessories when you buy the car, the 4 year warranty applies to the accessories too. If I had bought the spoiler, splash guards, CD changer, etc. at any point after picking up the car, they would only have a 1 year warranty on them. Something to think about if it's not too late.

BTW: I have a Satin Silver TL w/ Nav and trust me, it looks GREAT!

I wouldn't say I'm spoiled, more like lucky. Lucky, but broke. But not spoiled.

Well, i've been programming ever since i was 12, and lately, i've been really programming. I gotta say it pays okay.. I haven't ever gotten an allowence from my parents, and i do help them out with the bills, etc. Since i'm so young, i'm not responsible enough to save my money, so i just spend it ;-).. I told myself last year january to save 50K for an M3.. hmm.. got into an accident, don't know if i can afford the insurance for it in 2 years. I will have a lot of fun picking up my car tonight :-).

I have the splash guards, wheel locks, sunroof visor, and a pinstripe. For the money the pinstripe is definately worth it in my opinion. Most likely you can probably get the dealership to install it for free if you buy any other acessories. As far as the rest, if you got the money and like the look I say go for.

Question

I went to the dealer today to see the CL type S (no reason why). I saw the little invoice that says the extra goodies they put on the car and it said like 2K for the body kit, 600 for the wood kit, 1K for the spoiler, and i never seen this one before but they wanted to charge an extra 1K for a protection package that i asked the guy and he said its an extra coat they put to protect the paint? is that really neccessary to get, i mean this was 4,600 just on accessories, how much will this come out to if you order it from this website???

Please let me get in on this topic because I have most of the Factory Accessories on my TL.The reason I got the Accessories installed at the dealership was because they were in the amount I took the autoloan for.I got the spoiler, underbody kit,CD changer Car Cover, gold grill & emblems (roof visor)was no charge because I did not get floor mats. I had piad off all my credit cards before I got this car. I wanted to save my credit cards for other stuff that I would get for the car like new alarm system, floor mats, wheels, snow tires. You can have pros & cons on buying stuff aftermarket. The pros is you save money or in the case of wheels you can get a better buy.The cons is the warranty on the Accessories. To make my point about the warranty.I had a 94 Accord with factory spoiler it had the lights in the back. After 3yrs of ownership of the car the all the lights went out.I took it back to the dealership they got it to work no charge. The lights failed again maybe 3 weeks later.I took it back they said they might have to replace the light part. The dealer then told me that when they had installed it 3yrs before the person had pinched some wires on the spoiler light. If I did not have that warranty I would have had to pay to get it fixed. If you don't have somebody thats real good at putting things on the car then pay the dealer. If you like the Chrome Acura optional wheels buy them from a wholesale Acura place.

I'm 24 and I've worked for everything I have, so yes, I am spoiled, but I spoil myself.

The only question is, do I still qualify as a youngin? I still act like one if that helps.

Well...it's probably too late to reply, since you probably got your car already. But I would just get the stuff I REALLY wanted bad first, then get the other stuff later. Cause it's going to be cheaper to get aftermarket than from dealer. I only got the spoiler for my car, and the wheel locks for security reasons I really like the factory spoiler, but 2,000 is not worth it if you ask me. And the wood finish?...hmmm...I don't like it that much. I think I'll save my money for something else.

Oh and I'm not a spoiled youngin. I bought my own car And 28 isn't young
