F***** rust

So my parents have a 98 accord V6 which is part of the reason I got my 03 TLS. However, I noticed looking at the underside from behind the car (don't get any thoughts here you guys) and I see what seems to be a LARGE amount of rust on what I believe to be the cross exhaust pip between the two tail pipes. Now since my parents' car was parked right next to mine I looked under theirs' and it was like they had the brand new car. I am going to take pictures tonight and post tomorrow. I'm trying not to jump to conclusions but this seems absolutely ridiculous.

-Mike

ps. I know we've had a lot fo snow and salt in DC and also on my trips to upstate NY but I wash the car 2-4 times a month and make sure I get the underside cleaned. Before I post pics anyone have any clues? thanks all so much.

but this is kinda serious no? I mean under warranty this type of stuff shouldn't happen... you know, when a 98accord looks in better condition than an 03acura somethings wrong in my book...

right pipe but looks great compared to mine. I'll take a pic tonight and post first thing tomorrow. It is disgusting how horrible mine looks. And I'm close to fanatical about washing it especially after road trips...

thats more of an oxidation coloring than rusting. mine looks just like that, which i bet they all do after being exposed to the elements

It looks like you're trying to link pictures on either your hard drive, or camera. They must be hosted on the web somewhere, and then do the link.

man, those are really RUSTS!! i understand they suppose to be the color of copper but this is really rusts.

My suggestion to you Mike is to go to the dealer and start b*tching at them. It should be under warranty.
how long you had the car for?

Holy sh!t!!! I'd ask for those to be replaced. I don't think a coat of paint is going to fix that.

That is pretty bad... That should be covered under warranty. I would be pissed also. I'm going to check mine now.

armydog -
are your pipes looking like mine? If so have you done anything about it? I'm thinking this is ridiculous on a 8-month old luxury auto.
