Extra nut

So I was doing valve adjustment on a 2001 Acura Cl-S (yes i know this is a TL section, but the engine is the same and you guys get way more traffic). Reassembling everything back together and this nut gives me a blank look. it's 14mm and I have NO idea where it came from... any suggestions?

false alarm guys, that was an old extra nut from when I did another job during strut replacement.

on a side note, i got CEL code P0401, EGR insufficient. I've cleaned the egr in the intake and the little port on the lower intake. Maybe all the carbon build up is sludged up at the bottom of the valve?

In addition to that, I also have the VSA light and the ! triangle light on now.

did you remove intake manifold from engine to do the length of egr passage= thru manifold to each port for egr?
poking just the holes is not the job

ok to do lower section holes with manifold off too,,best to have shop vac to suck up crud

use clock fuse to reset ecu and clear all codes after cleaning is done

I've done all of that and cleaned the EGR valve itself now. It's throwing code P1491.

Does anyone know where the operating arm of the egr valve is? I heard it needs to be lubed up.

Sounds more like a clogged egr port(s). Keep in mind the codes are "clues" and not always the exact issue. Try Seafoaming the manifold (see DIY). I have done the egr port update and replaced the egr on my 99. Still got the code every few months. After the seafoam treatment it no longer comes up.
Same with my "Catalytic converter below threshold" code. Comes up now every few months. Seafoamed, it goes away.
At 14 years and 210,000 thou I figure this stuff is just part of knowing your ride!

Well, another big oopsie on my part, I took off the egr valve and forgot the replug in the sensor. egr ports and valve are both clean as a whistle now. no codes are showing!
