Exhaust resonator size?

hey i got a 00 TL.
thinking about puttin a 14, 16, or 18" resonator onto my car. what size inlet/outlet do i need? 2.5 or 2 1/4? also what is the difference between all the universal resonators out there? between the ones on ebay, magnaflow, dynomax, silver bullet? im thinking about just getting it off ebay for $35 in stainless steel.

is there ne other places that have them for cheap besides hottexhaust.com?

thanks
mike
