Which Exhaust?

I'm looking for an exhaust around the 500 range. I heard some good things about HKS draggers, but is it true that you need an extension done to it? Any opinions on the Apexi and thermal r&d?

I just installed the HKS Dragers last night. I have to say they are Awesome! You can have them extended if you wish, but mine are just standard. Its nice having them tucked back under, but only about 2 inches. You can still see these monsters from far away! They sound great and deep. No tinny rice. There sound disappears around 3000 RPM, and thats when the intake kicks in... so its almost a perfect match!

yes HKS are very nice, sound great too.
you only need to extend them if you have a rear kit. I did because i didnt want my rear kit to burn up and change colors. extending only costs about $30 - $50 and its well worth it IMO

Only $30-50 for each muffler? Where did you go! Holy cow the cheapest around the Seattle area is like $100 for each muffler. I was like hell no! So I just decided to try them the regular way. I didnt put a kit on my car, I lowered it instead.

Yup pretty much straight bolt on. Hp gain about 1-3 hp on a Type S at best. I think you might actually get more hp if you switched out your entire exhaust pipes for Type S ones with the freer flowing cat. You don't have to, but might make it sound louder and nicer.

HKS is AGGRESSIVE!

Personally not my style. I feel as if my stock exhaust is faster, I get better lower end...

Ha! I feel the same with my Thermals. If I were to do it again, I might get the HKS just to try something different. But as for the Thermals, other than the fact that they are oval, everything about them seems a little understated...very unlike the HKS.

Ok...since the hp gain i so little on a types...will I actually not gain or even loose Hp with an exhaust on my tl-p? I'm more into show than go.....personally. i seen Dyno test on some cars with an exhaust they gain torque and loose HP.
