ya and you guys will love this. niether the "acura assistance" or the flat bed driver knew anything about the problem.
but what really set me off was when acura ass told me since i was over my 4/50k i didnt qualify for the tow or any ass. for that mater, even though the tranny was covered under the extension 7/100k(which they where clueless about).they said they would dispatch a truck as a courtesy.

after calming down abit and talking to the dealer, I dont think "roadside ass." is included in the 7/100k warr ext 4 the tranny. The tow job(if caused by a faulty tranny on a covered car) would be covered on a voucher basis only from the dealer handling the repair work.

BTW I just checked w/ my nieghbor(who is one of the service reps at my dealer)and he told me the new tranny is on its way and my car might be done tom.

What the hell did they put in after the first tranny? Rebuild?

I'm getting the sinking feeling that they never fixed the tranny(clutchpack) fully, and I fully expect my 2003 TLS(bought in mid-July) to blow eventually.

Yes, I read here differently, but I don't believe it. Give it time.

I am with you Rubber. Got mine in May '03 built in Mar '03 and I have this bad feeling that my tranny will go out too. Plus we arent' part of the extended warranty. If mine does go out I will be demanding that I get the extended tranny warranty.

the new computer is there to tone down the engine. That's their "fix" for the tranny problem.

[sarcasm on]
Didn't you know you were only supposed to drive this car below 50mph and accelerate very gently? What's wrong with you, taking this car on the highway and stuff? You probably at least do 55 on the highway. And you probably enjoy an occasional acceleration. Let the others accelerate hard and drive fast. THEIR cars are designed for that type of use. YOU are supposed to stay behind the pack at every green light.
[/sarcasm off]

whats up guys. i have a 2002 tl-s. there is not one day that goes by where i dont think my tranny is gonna go. just from reading all of the problems on here make me worried. do you think the same will be for the 04 tl. time will tell. i have had numerous problems with my tl already. right now i have a loaner(04 tsx). i only got that because they ran out of loaners. nice car. later

Tranny

Mine blew out at 83K and I now have 86K. Getting nervous since I am closing on the 100K mark and who knows if they will cover me after that.

did they give you guys loaner cars for the whole time they were fixing your tranny's. and for mark, i would get rid of your tl-s before you reach 100k. you know they definitely wont cover it after that. mines goes back in the shop next wednesday for a steady SRS light. faulty airbags. i had no tranny problems, but every other problem. i had warped rotors, they resurfaced. and a list of small creaks and rattles they had to fix. my first loaner was a rsx and second was a tsx(only cause they ran out of loaners. later guys

Ha, mine's an '03 and the transmission is not exactly in top shape. I think it's gonna go pretty soon.

They better not do that new ECU crap and bring down the horsepower.

Unhappy Ode to a Dead Tranny

My TLS, I loved it so
Why'd the Tranny have to go?

Onto the highway, I tried to merge
When the engine, it did surge

8000 revolutions then cutoff fuel
So that's what that sounds like you silly fool

Limp limp limp putt putt putt
What a royal pain in the butt

Engineering excellence? I think not!
Curse you Acura, curse the lot!

(okay, I'm not the greatest poet by any stretch of the imagination)

Tranny DOA at 29k miles. Vin #1050. *sigh* I've been telling them that it seemed "flakey" for 10k miles and they kept telling me that it was fine... *double sigh*. They seem to be having difficulty getting a replacement. It's been in the shop since Friday and may not be available this week either. Driving an RSX loaner...it's just not the same.
