Was wondering if anyone had gotten their engine steamed...mine is very dirty with 120K on it....any suggestions. Also anyone in the NJ area know a place to get it done?

i have used low pressure power hoses to wash my engine..i just grab alittle spray and spray it on places it can be sprayed at..and use the power hose to wash it down..comes out nice and clean

 

i did. just take it to any good detail place.

 

I use that orange engine brite and let it soak a bit - then hose it off and hit it with some finish 2001 (or something similar) on the rubber parts (not the belts).

 

yea i am looking to just get all the grime and crap that has built up in the compartment so that is why i was thinking a steam would be the best thing to do.....???

 

Steam cleaning works great if you find someone to do it. Other wise get your self some engine cleaner (i too like Engine Brite, i like the foamy stuff) , then a garden hose with low pressure and rinse off, some areas may need a little help or a 2nd cleaning
