I noticed recently that my engine seems to be sputtering. Almost like driving stick and not giving enough gas while releasing the clutch. The first second it feels like it's going to stall. I have been accelerating and driving slower so I don't know how long this has been going on but I'm guessing only recently. It happens right in 3rd gear at 2100 rpm, but not every time. It happens during slower accelerations or when I'm driving in traffic and I'm accelerating but not quickly. I have 110,000 miles, new plugs (dealer installed), premium gas, sea foamed 5,000 miles ago. The only thing that I can think of is that I used regular oil on my last change because I forgot to tell the guy at Mobil 1 to use synthetic. He never asked and I didn't notice until I went to pay. I plan on going back to synthetic but I'm pretty sure going from synthetic to regular isn't a problem.
Any thoughts?

 

Sounds like a the torque converter, nothing really you can do aout it though.

 

yea the maint. light came on and hers sputters to? is that due to just needing the 60k tune up?

 

Have the egr passages been cleaned out? You could disconnect the egr and try it. It will set a code or 2, but if the stuttering goes away, you're on the right track.
