engine sound

does anyone else think the TL's engine sounds like it almost has a stock supercharger? It is the only car that I have driven that has a high pitched whirr above the deep engine noise. Just wondering if I'm the only one..

No. You are the only one. The TL motor has nothing that sounds remotely close to a SC

I heard it. I dont know what that is though. Maybe thats your cars way of telling you that you should be getting a supercharger

What modifications have you done to your car?

The only thing I can think of is that your hearing air running through the intake, which is more noticeable at lower rpms when you start to accel. However I never noticed it with the stock set-up. Maybe you have some bearing issues somewhere or a bad pulley?

I noticed that I hear the noise you're talking about when I'm up in my room and someone pulls out of my driveway, in both the TL and the Civic. I thought this was normal too

Edit:
I knew I had heard this somewhere else. This is StRodda's TL, you can hear the same whine noise part way through: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u0Hgu0EWYWc

What side is it coming from? I have a sound coming from the engine and I think it's from the belts. It's like a whistling/whirr sound.

You're not the only one, I have it as well and it's quite noticable on my car. I think it is the transmission but it made the sound the day I got it and it's now been almost a year and a half without any problems. Seems to be common on Honda vehicles according to some, I agree it sounds like a turbocharger.

You know, I was gonna post a thread about this. Mine does it too, more noticeably between 2nd and 3rd. No tranny issues, and it was replaced about 60k ago.

yeah i always thought it was normal. i've had the sound on my old tl-s, and on my current one. you guys can also hear it in the car right? and it gets higher with the rpm? like going from 0 to 2500 rpm you'll hear it going up? if you floor it you won't hear it.
