Engine mount 02 Type S

How can you tell that your front engine mount is bad? I have a 02 TL.

ck other threads with pics of following things if they dont make sense:

compressed look to upper rubber part
odd drops of oil on garage floor
actual oil traces on bottem of mount (its oil filled)
mystery vacuum leak
Engine moves wildly when gas pressed -in gear- park brake on - brakes on by TRUSTED helper (not angry spouse~)
there is more than 1 vid on azine of the movement
pretty much more than 1/4 inch is too much--so 2-3 inches of engine motions is definetly bad mount

When the front goes (usually 60-80kmiles) and isnt detected for months, the passenger side mount takes extra load and fails too, luckily its a normal rubber mount

not always. That's a recent failure. Some have died far before and all the fluid would have dried

The best way is with a vacuum gauge or look for excessive engine movement when in gear
