Engine Increase Revs

Hi Everyone:

I live in Canada and as part of renewing our license plate we are required to have an E-Test every 2 years.

When I took the car in today the mechanic could not get the car to idle correctly. The area was warm and the car was not moving. These may have been contributing factors. I only noticed this symptom once before when I was in a traffic jam on a very hot day.

Would anyone know why the car would start reving above 2500 rpm, and how to correct this problem.

Thanks,
dan.robinson@sympatico.ca
