Engine "idiot light" on?

I know with my old Honda, I could jump a couple pins and make the light flash whatever code is applicable.

Please tell me this car is the same.

And if not, what can i do to diagnose my car....

There are some excellent and experienced posters on this site. If you could provide some more details, I'm sure you would get valuable help.

Theres no pins to jump I think after 1995 they stopped. You can go to an auto parts store and let them scan it for you or you can buy one of their scanner for around $70 which is what I did and anytime theres a problem I fixed it myself.

Yeah, on the older cars....ya could get long and short flashes....to indicate what the numerical value was for the code. Very easy to miscount the #'s from start to finish of it's Braille sos code.

So, it's worth buying a pocket size scanner for under $100 or even easier to just drive the car to your local auto parts store and let them read the CEL codes for free. Also, download a copy of the Factory Service Manual.

Also have the ability to see if the emissions is ready, If your state requires that for inspection.

I just take it to Autozone. They will read them for free and give you a printout. Much easier than counting flashing lights. They also look up the codes so you know what they are.
