Engine Cover

Does anyone make a replacement for the plastic cover on the engine, one that looks better?

Just paint it... several people on here did that and it came out pretty awesome. I myself will be doing that in the spring. Doesn't cost much, doesn't take long, and makes a big difference. Some people have matched their car, others just painted it chrome/silver. Either way, it's a cheap, easy thing to do!!

Can someone who has painted their engine cover tell me does it require a special kind of paint like high temp paint, and did you use a spray can or a paint gun?

I believe they all used spray can paint, and I know for a fact that they all used high temp paint. If you do a search you should find their pics. I think there's also some in the gallery. I'd help you out and post links, but I'm at home on a dial-up, so it's pretty painful to even be online!!

I used a 500 degree high temp engine paint. I would of used a 1200 degree one just like for my y-pipe, but the higher degree you go, the less color choices you have. I figure the plastic engine cover does not go through as much as the y-pipe (heat wise) so i didnt have to have them both at 1200. Others didnt even feel they had to use high temp degree either (aka moonmaster_99 i think). He painted his engine cover chrome/silver, which i believe does not come in 1200 nor 500.
