Engine Code Help

Hello Everyone,

99 TL-P

After searching around on the Forum I realize what my engine codes mean, but I am still having trouble finding out how to fix these issues...

P1676 - FPTDR Signal Line Malfunction. I couldn't find any information anywhere to what this could be?

P1492 - Malfunction in EGR System. I found some information regarding cleaning the EGR ports on the Intake Manafold, and also information on a possible voluntary replacement of the EGR Valve from Acura. Unfortunately, my car just passed the 80k mark the other day.

I cleared the codes yesterday and they have not come back yet. Although, I would rather play this one safe. If you guys have any information that you think may help please post!

Thanks in advance,
hoclocka49

not sue what the other code is for but if you are having a egr related code, you probably have a intake port cloging problem. it is very easy to fix your self if you arent afraid to take off the upper intake manifold (sounds harder than it is. takes about 1 hr to take off and clean and reinstall)

The code p1676 , FPTDR line signal failure. can sometimes be caused by water getting into the connector at the ABS/TCS unit next to your washer fluid bottle. If you spray down the engine compartment as most of do.... that connector gets wet. I have found that by opening the lock on the orange connector and removing the connector from the ABS/TCS , then drying it out, then re-installing it AND securing the lock bar down again, will resolve that code. Take your time!!!!! Do it right, so as NOT to damage the connector lock bar.
