Empty switch plate???

Does anybody know what that empty switch plate next to the dash light dimmer is? My friend used to have a 02 TL-S and he swears he had a heated steering wheel is this true? I never heard of anyone having a heated steering wheel in a TL.

If i am correct(correct me if i'm wrong) it is for the japanese version of the TL which is the Sabre, On the japanese model both of the mirrors on the door will fold in. The negative of that is that you don't have heated side mirrors if you do the conversion. It's a trade off, folding mirrors or heated mirrors, ??? I'll stick with the heated mirrors cuz many places in USA are cold some part of the year...

Ahhh...now I see. It is true that you cant get a heated steering wheel in the TL right? If you look on the passenger door you can see the cutout for the trunk release, I guess thats for the Japanese models as well. I thought that they would be built to American spec since the parts and car are built here.

I think that blank switch may be for a fog light switch. Someone was selling the Inspire fog light switch setup that fit in there.

I used the blank button to hardwire my Passport 8500.

See attached thread for details.

Rumors rumors lol. They have the fog light switch in the same spot as we do. They dont have cruise TCS or sunroof so they have blanks there. As far as the dummy next to dimmer, they dont have a dimmer and they have 3 yes three dummies there. They are there because you can add cameras in sides of bumpers and they use them to drill holes into for the buttons that activate them. As far as the mirror fold in, it is not in that dummy rather it is on the mirror switch. They dont have heated mirrors so instead their small button next to the left right switch folds them in. Mine is run off the accord kit that uses external switchs and are drilled into that dummy by the dimmer. Hope this helps.

Power folding mirror switch on INSPIRE/SABER is the same switch we use for heated mirror switch. (INSPIRE/SABER doesn't have heated mirror switch.)
