I have 5zigen dual exhaust on my 2000 SSM TL and I am going to get my emissions inspections on Monday. Is there any way that I could fail the inspection? They are axle-back and I live in VA. I am getting kind of worried that I will fail. Please let me know what you think. Thanks

 

i know nissans use back pressure from the exhaust to conrol the airflow in the engine. If acuras are the same way then you may have issues becasue the engine may burn too hot.

I'm in CA, so they are real anal about smog. If your exhaust is card approved though, you should be okay.

I think he meant CARB (California Air Resources Board), not card.

Usually you can find out from the manufacturer. I'm not sure if there's a marking on them to tell.

CARB may even have a web site... not sure - just an idea.

usuaylly emissions places care if you've done things to the engine like add a turbo or nos or something. they don't check exhaust too often unless there is a problem with your tailpipe emissions
