Emergency paint help!!!

I NEED HELP GUYS!! I tinted my tail lights with the spray, it looked great, until the second day where i noticed i missed some spots, so i figured just tape off the car and spray. BIG MISTAKE, i should have just taken it out again, but i got some clear coat over my trunk and bumper!!

WHAT SHOULD I DO/HOW DO I take it off?? its not "TOO" noticeable but it just looks....'moldy' all dried and crusty!! please!! anyone??

Thanks in advance!!

also will it work on the tail lights? i went a shade too dark on the white part x_x 02 TLS

thats the exact thing i tried doing a few weeks ago. The good news is that it does take off the tint. the bad news is that it messes up the lens so i ended up buying new tail lights. bought them off ebay for 119 shipped brand new

I think my dad used to show me how to do this.

I think you will need some alcohol with 99%( this is very strong so becarefull) and some gas. Mix them up and kinda wet them up the spot you got clear coat on. And then immediately use your fingernail or anything that thin but not sharp( cause it might damge the paint plus the alcohol so strong), and kinda scratch it out spot to spot.

After all dont, use regular alcohol and wipe it all over again and use a clean tolwer to clean it again.

Hope this helps man, do it at your own risks man, lol

i dont know why ppl take short cuts when painting, when i tinted my tails i took the tail lights out (took a whole 5 min for both), cleaned them REALLY good and then sprayed the tint. didnt use clear bc it was not needed, just buffed and waxed them.

as for your over spray, clay bar, use some rubbing compound, buff it and wax it, should look like new.

to take the paint off the tails, use paint thinner and go slowly (ALSO TAKE THE TAIL LIGHTS OUT, no need to mess up the paint more if it drips) keep doing this lightly and then wet sand with 1000 grit then 1500 grit, and use some plastic polish stuff or u could buff and wax them too.

thanks for the responses, i just finished using turtle wax ice liquid clay bar, it made the surface just a little smoother, but you can still see the over spray, and still a little rough, dont have time tonight to buy the rubbing compound and all that, ill do that within the next few days, and ill let you know how it turns out. thanks again.

before u went sand try to use some rubbing compound, and if it still doesnt get it out then wet sand it with 1500 grit. make sure u do the whole trunk or you will see the difference from where u didnt wet sand and where u did.

dont do it by hand use a buffer with and rubbing compound, your hands will thank you.

unless you have lots of experience wetsanding a car, which doesnt sound like it since youre asking this in the first place, then DO NOT WETSAND! its waaay too easy to take off the clearcoat with inexperienced hands, especially around the edges. what you need is rubbing compound. if you properly clayed it and used an aggressive grade bar, you should have taken it all off honestly. aggressive grade bars can generally be used to take off paint overspray.

so get some rubbing compound, i think 3M makes a decent one that you can get over the counter. make sure you wipe down with alcohol, rub the compound in and hopefully that should take care of the rest. then polish and wax it
