emaka9's build thread FINALLY!!!

Alright everybody, I have finally started my build thread! I'm going to kind of hit you with a lot of pics and parts/mods all at once right now, then in the future I will show my progress. A little about me and my TL:

This is my 3rd Acura.
First was a 91 Integra (DA9) (a few mods)
Second was an 01 Integra Type R (DC2R) (lots of mods)

I bought this TL from the original owner in 2011 with...I forget how many miles, I'll find it and correct this. Bone stock, minor body damage, very well kept, all service done through Acura up until 2008.

As of right now, as far as maintenance:
I have done oil changes every 4k miles with Castrol high mileage and OEM filter and plug.
I've changed plugs to NGK Platinums ( I read on here the Platinums were optimal for our car, or something like that.)
Replaced cabin air, and air filter, both OEM, or...all 3 I think.
Replaced hood dampeners with OEM.
Replaced cat convereter with some POS company because CA is the best state to live in
Ignition switch with OEM NEW PART NUMBER SWITCH (a05 or something like that, not a01.) Check my posts for DIY, Pics will be added here though.
Underhood OEM fuse box due to "eld circuit high input" code
I could be missing something, but that seems fine for now. This is already a novel :\

Mods (Installed):
Brakemotive Front and rear, drilled and slotted, rotors with pads.
-These brakes gave me steering wheel shakes at somewhere around 6-8 months of owning them. I was pretty upset to get something like that so soon, especially with the way I drive. To keep this simple, Brakemotive understood my concern and took care of me. Thanks again Brakemotive!

Had 2G TL-S Rims, sold them

Plasti Dipped the whole car

And that's all folks HAHA

Parts/mods being installed this week (meanwhile I help my sister move, take my daughter to Disneyland or the Zoo or California Adventure, so I can go to San Diego with you guys
Driver and passenger axles (aftermarket, whatever)
Legend brake calipers, which I am going to Plasti Dip black (I didn't get ss brake lines )
Brakemotive front pads
Brake flush
All 3 OEM motor mounts (Don't think I can knock this one out before San Diego, holding off on it)
Function and Form Type 1 (gonna play with these for a while, just height)
18x8 +45 Panther Rims
225/40/18 (probably cheapos since I won't have camber kits for now)
Plasti Dip Black my front shock support forks

That's all for now....
Pics will be up tomorrow!

Sorry no pics yet guys. Been busy working on the car all night. So... I put the suspension at about 3" drop all the way around. I measured the new shock next to the old one and adjusted to 3" drop, front and rear.
I also did my:
Axles
Legend calipers
Brake flush
Oil change
Trans drain and fill
Mounted my rims

My car is almost 100% ready for San Diego!
A couple of notes....
My car hasn't had a trans service in a while. Fluid was black. I only did one drain and fill to baby it. We will see how she handles all week. In the test drive, seems the same, shifting and changing park to reverse and vice versa.
But...these function and form type 1 are pretty stiff! Feel like I'm on tokico illuminas on setting 5! I'm not too happy with the ride. Any suggestions for those that have or had this setup? No I did not touch the perch, just the height adjustment.

Also on my drive, my brakes were very squishy! I don't understand what I'm doing wrong. I've flushed twice within the last 6 months and I can't seem to get rid of the spongy pedal! Somebody come flush my brakes. I can't stand this spongy feel and I'm not sure if that's causing me to not even notice the legend calipers performance. (Might not be much but should still be some I assume)

Ended up putting on some Falken Ziex 612s. Love them.

That's it for now. Today were taking our daughter out for a good time.
Pics soon! Laterrrr

F2 is wrong. It's damping.

Alright so, since it's only 3 days till the big meet, I figured I'll upload pics after that. It'll be a little surprise Other notes:
I rub on bumps/turns at the same time. They have to be a pretty hard bump though.
Trans seems to shift a little better from drive to reverse now.
I have A LOT more traction now.
I NEED A SOFTER RIDE :| I might have these up for sale or trade soon.
And now you guys wait..................Laterrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Oh and I want a softer ride because I have a little girl and a gf and they are not very fond of how stiff it is. I'm not really either. I would like a little smoother ride. Little more bounce. I guess the type 2's would have worked.

If that's the case, don't go low and get something else for sure.

There's plenty of options for going low and not having too stiff of a ride. I'm gonna see how these work out for me..

For a smother ride You need a shock that you can adjust the rebound and damping to make the ride smooth. And then TAKE THE TIME to adjust them

Ya I just thought the function and form was going to be a little smoother. I'll change then eventually. I love the way it handles now. I think I need to go lower in the back!

So I'm getting used to the stiff ride. It's a little smoother now. The brake problem, I think I'm going to bleed the fronts AGAIN ...I'm experiencing brake wobbles AGAIN when braking from 80 or 70. Not happy. I've been babying these brakes to where I don't even want to brake at all.

I'm going to re-Plasti Dip my car. Get it smoother. Black out the trim and grill this time.

Business cards and logo are in the making right now! Clientele is being built! Things are looking up for me guys!

Next stop, Wekfest and Eibach! I'm going to slam it the week of these meets. I want to tuck tire. I saw a fellow Aziner on here with the same setup as me and he was tucking tire without rubbing or spacers or cutting tabs. So I'm going for it.

I want F2T2 now. I also want deep dish 19's. I love deep dish, tucking tire, with a little bit of camber look.

Exhaust is also next, but not in time for the meets. I need LED blinkers btw. Mine are too dark since I blacked out that part :| I also want to get the LED interior kit.

That's it for now folks. Check out my youtube and instagram channels and subscribe! I'd appreciate it!

I love color, honestly.

I've been wanting to replace the stock rims on my '00 TL and put the 2G TL-S rims on, but I can't find a set for a decent price, not even on eBay. Most of the junk yards around here don't seem to have them either.
