Electrical Issue.

I have done multiple searches and can't seem to find anyone with the same issues. My turn signal doesn't work. Here's what happens:

You turn the signal on and it just blinks once or twice and stops. Sometimes it blinks more or sometimes it blinks less. The way you get it to start blinking again is the following:

1) Leave the lever pushed to the right or left. Eventually it comes back on.

2) Push the flashers on and off.

3) Turn the signal on and off.

For whatever reason it doesn't work at all when the car is "on" vs idling.

P.S. Yes I know my name says 3G but I made this account to originally get some information on a 3G. The TL that's having the blinker problem is the 2000.

P.S.S I checked the bulbs and they all seem to be fine.

I suspect the turn signal relay, located under hood in one of the boxes
they are all marked
ok to swap another relay of same color and test

the battery cable connections are clean? battery tested?
winter puts the hurt on old ones,,old being 3 years

Actually the Flasher relay is under the dash on the drivers side. I'ts basically the back side of the fuse box on the drivers side. You'll have to crawl under there. It's the black relay to the right farthest down towards you. There's 2 plastic clips that hold it in you'll have to release to get it out. Pretty easy swap. They sell them at autozone for like $10

Thank you for your response. I assume it is not the battery for two reasons:

1) The emergency flashers seem to work much better (but not perfect)

2) The car has no trouble starting or with any other electronics.

Thank you as well.

For $10 it's worth a try.

Thanks guys!! It worked!! I have attached an imagine of the comparison parts. The replacement part is a lot bigger but it now works like a charm. The part was $12.99 at O'Relly's.

The clicking sound is also different now. It's minor but in case anyone is interested I figured I would attached a video as my way of saying thanks.
