?? on EGR valve
?? on EGR valve
okay, i've read a few threads about the EGR valve.. but still left w/ these questions..:
1. where is it? a pic of this would be great!
a similar quesiton to this: 2. what does it look like? is it a small hole that is clogged and just needs to be cleaned by carb spray...?
i want to clean this but searched the threads to only find the benefits of cleaning it/and problems that it can cause when clogged... can someone help. maybe what i am asking for is a DIY...

looking from the drivers side its to the left of the TB. it conects to the lower intake manifold.
its not just as simple as spraying carb cleaner into a hole. most situations on this forum are people having insufficant egr flow, which requires you to take OFF the upper intake mainfold and clean out the clogged ports. sometimes the actual port for the egr gets gunked up too which would require you to to take off the egr and spray a little cleaner and scrub out that port. if a egr is going bad, it will typically stick open and cause rough idle. once its at that stage it really cant be fixed. you could use carb cleaner and spray it in it and attempt to clean it out but its just a short term fix
