The subject says it all.....any members out there adjust their springs and if so, how did you do it?
Thanks for the info.

its easy
It may sound funny or wierd but here it is, all i used was the end of a regular hammer. Basically if you look at the spring setup you should see another setting(notch),if you use the end of the hammer(I used one with a rubber coated handle)you can compress the spring and move it into the next notch. It works cuz my trunk stays open even on inclines with just the regular spring(with the adjustment)and the wing west spoiler.

Gotta try this. I have the WW spoiler on my car. The wing really adds weight to the trunk. I almost had my head chopped off many times. It actually struck me a few times. Anyway you can post some pics on how to do this??

WOw.....this thread definitely needs more attention. I recently just had my facotry spoiler installed but the springs are still stock. I was so close in buying a new set of trunk springs before I saw this post. I really hope we can use the original springs and just adjust them.

Ditto for me too. This week I added a rear deck spoiler and my trunk doesn't "pop" up like it used too. I thought I was stuck with it like that.
This thread is much help:p

I've got instructions, but I want to know how you can do this without the darn tool. In addition, what if you want to change the entire spring with the one that came in the OEM kit
BTW, if you want the instructions, shoot me an e-mail...it's a PDF file and I can't attach it.

I had the spoiler installed when I purchased the car. The dealer did the springs without me asking. They tried to charge me extra for the install because I have the navi in the trunk. Some BS about having to take the unit out, like its a big job.

OK...so I got new springs that comes with the OEM wing. The bodyshop wanted to install it for me next week, but damn I'm impatient and want to tackle it myself first. This morning I must of had a brain fart because I called up the dealer...asked them if they could do it...then drove all teh way there for them to charge me $50 for the job. I said f*ck that! And drove away. What made me think that the dealer would pop the center tab for me for free. sheesh.

Like Blazing TL said its easy just look at where the spring setup is now. Their are 2 spots that it can go into and it already is in one of them so take the end of the hammer and just move it to the other spot. Takes 2 seconds

Edgalang, please leave the new springs installation to the professionals. They have the right tools to do the job. Many years ago, I tried to change those on an Accord, and it almost took out my fingers. The tension on the springs has to be cranked up to be removed and installed.

Sorry for the delay guys...for all of you that wanted the instructions; check your e-mail. Just remember that the instruction does call for that "special tool" which all of us don't have. I'm going to attempt to change my springs this weekend...will let you all know if I find an easy way.

I just adjusted my regular spring and I can feel that it definitely is tighter, so hopefully when my spoiler comes in it will still open nicely. For those that have new springs, does it make the trunk open all the way up? My trunk still opens up a little. Would putting new springs make it open all the way open by itself? Where did you get the new springs from? How much were they?
BTW, thanks for the instructions Randy.

I recently just adjusted the trunk springs thanks to Lawaia's pics. It definately feels tighter and the trunk lid doesnt fall on my head anymore, but still doesn't feel like before the spoiler. I mean I guess it does the trick though. How much of a difference does the new bars make?

Yeah, I took the end of the hammer not used for nailing and wedged it between the two ends and used it as a pry bar. Just apply slight pressure and it will move into the other slot.
