Hey guys -

I had a quick question about doing mods to early on my TLS. I already have a AEM CAI and installing the Comptech headers on Friday. The car has about 600 miles on it.

I have not abused it yet or even slammed on the gas. I want to break the car in nicely, but did not know if doing these mods early will hurt anything?

Just curious what you guys thought....

Doing the mod itself won't hurt the car.... it's just the way you drive that will. I broke my car in for 1000 miles. Even when I hit 1k... I didn't start going nuts right away. If you can have some restraint with your right foot... you'll be fine. Part of the CAI charm is the growl at VTEC... so if you can stay away from that for a little while longer... you'll be OK. Otherwise... I'd wait another 400 miles or so....

I also had a question on oil. I know there is a lot posted but was curious what you (juniorbean) thought or other members.

I am going to wait tell after 5k, but can I use Mobil 1 Tri-Synthetic 15W-50?

It says it works very well with high performance engines. I used to use it in my 2000 supercharged golf and it seemed to work nicely.

Any thoughts or suggestions?
