I have an RSX loaner while my car is being fixed and I found out that the A5 SS does not automatically shift you from 1->2 and you can downshift from 2->1. I sometimes wish the TLS did this but I guess since there is more power that Acura had to take precaution (maybe they knew about the defective tranny ahead of time).

Anyway, the RSX is a pretty nice car with some decent power. It almost feels as fast as the TLS (because of all the noise from the engine) eventhough I know the TLS is much faster. The TLS is just so much smoother. Rsx feels so light around corners and I felt had a pretty good feel to it. Defintely not a bad car.

I miss my TLS but should have it back hopefully by Friday. I can also see where the additional $10k is going towards. I miss the luxury, size and smoothness of the TLS.

Very true! I had a RSX loaner couple of times during service and the little thing really pulls. I really like the SS mode, it shifts much faster compare to the TLS. Corners well too, but overall TLS is much more powerful and bigger which I prefer.

I can downshift/upshift 1-2-1 in my 99 TL.

TypeS, I'm with you. The car is fun but I prefer my TLS boat. Like you said, roomier with more power. I am sure the RSX-S must be a blast to drive!

My nephew has the RSX Type S manual. It's definitely a fun car to drive. But, I too, enjoy the smoothness of our TL-S. The ride on the RSX is noticably stiffer. I find myself avoiding the slightest holes and road imperfections when I'm in the RSX because I was getting a headache from the constant bouncing. When I'm in my TL-S, I'm much more comfortable. I feel that sometimes we take our cars for granted. Until you have to drive something else, you never really notice how nicely tuned our machine is. Most luxury cars are too spongy and most sports cars are too harsh. Yet, our TL-S is perfect IMO. Only if they could resolve the tranny problem, this would be one hell of a machine!
