DVD Navi unit in '99 TL
Hi all, I just got a '03 DVD Navi unit off Ebay!!! yaaaa, now I can have a more complete navigation and rumor has it, the units are a plug and play swap with my hard drive system. Anyway, has the new update came out yet? What is the version # anyway. I need to get a disk next, and I will be selling my current system if anyone is interested.

The two nicest things about the DVD NAVI unit are; (1) The entire US is on the DVD and (2) Acura is still offering updates.

how much for the dvd navi
i have a 1999 with the harddrive navi and wanted to upgrade to the dvd navi in order to have access to more complete/recent maps.
im in real estate, and it sucks to not be able to find a newer construction property.
anyways, if you can tell me which model i need to purchase from ebay, and what they typically go for.
thanks

Thanks Mike for posting my web site! I hope you are as happy with the disk to dvd conversion as I am with mine. The strategy I'm taking with the web site is to locate DVD units from sources other than eBay or ones on eBay that slip through the cracks for cheap. I'm out of units right now since the supply is limited and the demand huge. Since I'm not really a business and only help out folks for beer money it wouldn't be helpful to owners to buy on eBay and then sell on my web site. So lately a lot on dvd units have been sold on eBay and I've stayed off especially when I recognize a user that has emailed me. If anyone needs help to do it themselves just email me too.
Regards all!

I give Paul a + rep, he helped me lots with my stock NAVI and with the new DVD version, and he was classy and didnt try to out bid me on Ebay (like he said) because he recognized my name from a while ago.

However, I noticed a change with the 2.11c version, at least I think it was related to 2.11c...When you do not click on OK when NAVI starts up, it used to show the digital clock in large numbers in the center of the screen, with SHUTDOWN in the lower left. In 2.11c, the clock is in the lower right, in small numbers, just like it is when there's a map showing. I kinda liked the clock in the center of the screen. It'd sure be nice if the software let us customize startup parameters.

touching what on the screen??

If you have a big clock and touch it (the numerals of the clock on the touch screen) it removes it and puts it down in the corner little box. If you have a little clock and touch the numerals of that clock it moves it to the big position. It's just a toggle you control and the system also remembers what was the last setting. When you turn off the key and back on you get whichever you last had. I just went to the garage and tested my system that has dvd 2.11c.
