Thumbs up Drove a TL-S for the first time yesterday...

Yup, test drove one at Buerlke Acura in Brooklyn Park MN. And all I can say is wow, what a car. I love every part about it. It was fast, smooth, quiet and handled great, and it was sooo responsive.. I mean i liked it so much i thought the performance/handling is comparable to my parents mercedes and infiniti. I guess im just really happy i got to drive one finally. Cant wait to get my own in a couple of months!!

P.S
Having some trouble picking a color, im gonna be going to college next year at Arizona State and I want a black one. Is a black car really that bad in a hot climate?

Congrats!! I felt the same way when I test drove mine, but the only thing is I bought it and drove it home the same day. Black is a great color, but it is easier to get dirty compare to the silver color. Just look a black car all clean up at night, there is no word to describe it.

As a former black car owner, let me tell you that Black is the most elegant color for any car. BUT.... Its hard as hell to keep clean, not to mention, you will die in a black car with black interior in arizona. Just make the right choice, go with TEAM SILVER!!! And let the party begin...

JD7,
I picked Silver because you probably know how much salt and sand are sprayed on the road during the winter here in the Midwest. I would have to wash my car more often if I picked a darker color. However, it is still a personal choice

Whatever you do don't get black. I had a 90 maxima until my tl and whenever i got out of class i would get in and it would smell like it was cooking. I left a coke in there one day and it got so much pressure in it that when i dropped it on the ground it blew the seal around the top of the can. DONT GET BLACK. Go wdp with tan interior.

Ya i think that WDP with tan is like the classiest color interior combo there is. THe only reason that i might get silver instead is that im driving a white car right now and i want to switch it up.

ANY car is going to be like a oven on the inside if you let it sit out in the sun with the windows open. BLACK is an excellent choice, but as others have already stated....hard to keep clean. Silver is an excellent choice as well. That was my second choice when chosing a color for the TL.

Re: Drove a TL-S for the first time yesterday...

I'm kinda partial to black. My other Acura is black with the parchment interior - its an elegant combo, and I repeated the color scheme with my TLS. Black is as sweet as heck when its clean (which its also its disadvantage). But, look at rominl's or TypeSdragon's or oblio98's cars. They look great (especially with the body kit) ! And of course, u have to wash your car no matter what color it is anyway!!! Wash it once a week and u r set.

Don't let people scare u about the heat either. I am in florida and u don;t sit ON your car, u sit IN your car....

Do they have the TL-s in anthracite yet? I have it on my TL as the black only came with the tan interior, and the anthracite is slightly darker than the silver and much easier to keep clean than the black. BLACK IS AWESOME WHEN IT IS CLEAN.

For Arizona I'd choose White w/Parchment it will be many degrees cooler then Black. Silver is a good second choice, but the black interior will get hot.

For Arizona, I would not get black just like others have said. It's a desert! I was there a while back and it was like 110 degrees although it was extremely dry, (sweat evaporated instantly) the sun is allll too strong, man I drank alot of water

You can tell what my favorite color is......on any car, IMO

I went to Arizona State back in the early 80's. What a fun school!

Anyway, GET SILVER and tint the windows really dark. Everyone in AZ has very dark tint, no problem with the police. White is OK, but silver will always look better when its drity. And, this is just my opinion, but white is a little feminine. The tinted windows will take care of the black interior getting too hot, and the black leather will look better a lot longer than tan interior will. You just can't beat the look of the black leather, black dash board, black wood...just looks so sweet!

Stay away from the Aegean Blue, its the same as black in terms of heat, dirty, and swirls in the paint. I know I'm gonna get slammed for this, but the blue is a little too trendy. In two or three years you may be really sick of the color, whereas silver or white will always be timeless.

Thanks for all the advice and opinions guys. I think after the hearing about the colors i am gonna go with silver. Now all I gotta do is wait a couple months to get and save up some $ to put some mods on her!!
