Dropped and damaged bumper

I dropped my tl and immediately parked it and drove too close to the parking concrete stop and damaged my front bumper and had to have a new 1 put on. Help!! Is there anything that can be installed to prevent this from happening again? I cannot judge how close to go. Almost all parking spaces have these. thanks!!!

think the other way...

inside if seeing how far ur pullin in, try to see how far back ur rear is sticking out..

i dont have my kit on yet but i usually align my car with the car next to me and depnding on its length.. i go further in or stay further out... (if its a truck, align it a lil in since trucks are bigger), if its a civic, align it a lil back since civic is a small car.. ..

u might not get wat i'm takling about but i've been parking like this ever since.. (usually checking where the side mirrors are) and it helps but oh well thats just me....

i think i'll be prepared when my kit is installed.

Back into the spot. Rear bumper should have more clearance than the front right?

Or you can go lazy and stick your head out the window and take a look at your position.

haha u read my mind. just be careful, theres no shame in gettin out of your car and seeing how much room you got. I could careless what people think as long as my bumper is in one piece. my car has been lowered for a while now with the kit and i have yet to hit the curb, just keep it in your head that you're lowered when pulling into a spot.

when you put on a kit and lower the car. You should not park so close.

I use the mirrors as well. Look at the car next to you. See where front bumper is compared to the concrete, then see where his mirrors are and adjust accordingly. If he's hanging over the concrete, you want your mirrors to be behind his.

Reverse in all of the parking spaces that have one. The rear is higher then the front, so chances you won't scratch/break the lip.

If you are allowed to, back into your spots. The rear is higher than the front, and you can back into a spot more than you can pull into it. Leaves less of your car exposed. I always back into spots when I park.

Also getting out of the car and looking is alot less embarassing than hitting the curb.

I dont have a drop or a kit, but right now I park my TL "violently" over the curb all the time, I have to get used to not pulling in so close when i get my kit on in the spring time.
