Droping stearing wheel for dash removal?

I have removed my dash a couple of times. Each time its hard to squeez it out from behind the steering wheel. I have a small crack from squeezing it through. Nothing you can see but I'd like to keep it that way. It would help if the steering wheel was out of the way. Anyone have any experience with this? Thanks in advance

well, from my experience, i just unscrewed the 3 screws on the underside of the steering column cover and pulled the top part off..this would give you a little more space to work with but i would say it's still a bitch taking out the dash

Thanks, I didn't know the steering coller came off easilly. I was affraid of breaking it. Yep dash the removal is allways a pain. It seems like I break something different every time.

2-12mm and 2-14mm will drop the whole steering column, will give you even more room than just removing the covers

if you look underneat the dash on the driver side you will see two 12 mm bolt and two 14 mm nut holding the whole steering column, remove them and you will have alot more room to work with
