Question Drivers Side Door

Does anyone else out there have to close their door at least twice because the first time it just doesn't close right? Is it because the door is heavy? Also, does the drivers side seem to get more wind noise than the passenger or back seat windows? Just want to get some feedback before I take it to the dealer.

My driver's door seems to have a bit of wind noise...I think that it's pretty common for the TL. I don't always have to close it twice, now that I've gotten used to the car, I know to close it firmly. Actually, mine is going back next week to remove a raddle from inside the passenger door. I talked to the service guy and he said it's pretty common. They received something on it. They go into the door and tighten a wiring harness that brushes against the inside of the door when it's close. Hope all this rambling helps...

Last week I noticed that my driver's side front door wasn't flush w/ the rear door. I tried closing the door firmly to see if that would help, but it didn't. I'm taking it in this Tuesday, hopefully they will be able to fix it. Also the silver trim above the door handle on my drivers side front door is lower than the silver trim on the rear door. Two other TLS's I've seen thus far have the same problem. For 32k bucks one doesn't expect Acura to be making these kinds of screw ups

Gabriele; my doors all close with a gentle push. I was worried about noise when I purchased the car from what I've read on these forums but so far this is the quietest car I've owned. Of course it's all reletive to what you're used to, I've never owned a Lexus or Mercedes, maybe you're used to quieter cars than I am.

Gabriele, I notice the door closing issue on several of the 3.2TL-S I considered before I selected mine. I made sure that every door on MY TL-S closed properly before I purchased it. I had a '99 3.2TL that the doors closed perfectly with a thud everytime when you closed them, hard or soft. As I said, I noticed the door not closing properly when I initially looked at several TL-S's. I think it is just a door re-alignment issues so give it a shot with service. The doors should close solidly and not bounce back and have to be re-closed.

All my doors close with almost no effort at all. Though my TL-S has developed another problem(see the thread, "Strange noise after shut off the engine").

Come on Andy we don't know yet whether you have a problem with that shut off sound or if it is a normal occurence. Be optomistic . . .
