driver side door sensor?

when i open the driver side door, the courtesy light doesnt go off. at first i thought the bulb was out but then i realized on the tiny car diagram by the odometer, the driver side door being open isnt shown. all teh other doors work fine and the courtesy lights go off as well as that diagram but the driverside doesnt work. anyone know why and how i can fix it?
