Door Speaker Relacement Problem, Need Help!
I just replaced the factory front door speakers with a pair of Pioneer Premier speakers. They are rated 4 ohms. No sound comes out of any door speakers after the speakers are replaced. Called Acura dealer and they said the new speakers impedence do not match the Bose amps.
I wonder if anyone has the same problem with the Bose? What brand and model of speaker could be used for direct replacement? I don't want to spend too much money on the audio; I just want to improve the mid and high of speakers.
Thank you in advance!

If you change the speakers you have to change everything....The Bose system uses a 2 ohm system while most other speaker comany's use 4 ohm. If I remember right, Focal makes a 2 ohm speaker but you looking at 600 bucks for 1 component set!. You could change out the deck, but would recommend a speaker balancer thingy. You can get it through metra or scosche.
I was thinking of gutting out mine and putting in a new system. What did you have to do to install those speakers? did you have to remove the whole door panel?

Yes, the door panel needs to be removed. Normally, if impedence is mistched, it just affect the volume but in this case the output to all door speakers shuts down. Bose make a screwy amplifer.
By the way, the factory speakers are crappy and it is made of paper and from Tailand.

Ya, kinda figured that. With all the reseach I did, I figured it would cost me at least 1500 for a good quality system to redo my car and I already have the head unit.
I have a Pioneer p960 and these are some of the speakers I have been looking at:
