I took the car for the passenger door/dash area rattle which they had claimed to fix previously.

But i haven't heard it since last week hopefully it's gone forever. Car seems much more solid now (except for the seat belt buckle squeak which they claimed to fix last week - damn seems like they take 2 tries to fix it).

Anyways, the door rattle was in fact the FUSE PANEL LID. They put something called "EPT Tape" and now it's gone.

 

Easy fix for the seat belt buckle squeak: Squirt some WD-40 onto the main hinge. Did that to mine and it hadn't squeaked ever since.

 

WD-40 Eh. Must try today when there is sun out.

 

Where's the main hinge. Is that in the buckle or at the base of buckle on the floor?

 

for mine, it was the base of the buckle that was squeaking, but I sprayed both to be safe. I think that noise is gone for now, but there's plenty more noises from other areas of the car.

 

Good or bad ones?

 

I have a rattle coming from the passenger door/windsheild pillar area. It might be coming from the sunroof area but it rattles regardless of whether or not the sunroof is open or closed. I tried removing the fuse panel lid but it still rattles. I rode in the passenger seat with my friend driving but I couldnt locate it. It sounds its coming from inside the roof between the sunroof, windsheild, and passenger door. Whats weird is that my car has been relatively rattle free. This rattle surfaced after I got rearended. Any ideas where the rattle is coming from or how to fix it? Does anyone else have this problem?

 

I have the same ticking noise and it seems immpossible to locate. Almost like it fills the air and everywhere you think it comes from changes when you sit in that spot. I think it may be the lower part of the passenger side dash squeaking with the upper part. Hard to tell though you need someone else to drive. I haven't had time to let my dealer look for it but if you find what it is let me know.
I have driven without the door sills because it sounds like it comes from the passenger door but it doesn't seem to come from there when I sit on the passenger side. If you find it, please post because it DRIVES ME CRAZY. Mine is loud and difficult to reproduce. It happens intermittently when I go over bumps a certain way like the chasis sways from a dip on the front passenger wheel. Very strange, sorry about the long post.

 

I sprayed some WD40 on the driver side buck hinge where it meets at the base and - VOILA - the squeak is gone.

That means my TLS is rattle & squeak free !

Hopefully it'll stay that way.

 

Gee, I have that same exact problem on my driver's side door's fuse lid on my Accord V6. What's this EPT thing?!
