Door Ding

Well, it finally happened, I have had my TL-S since November 29, and I got my first door ding in the drivers side rear door. I was pissed because I intenationally park far away. Anyway I went to Dent Wizard and they removed the dent in about 20min and without taking the door panel off or drilling any holes. I am impressed. You cannot tell where the ding was it is just like new.

I'm confused....is this post meant for venting your anger? Or is it an endorsement for paintless dent removal?

One of my 2 dings is on the crease. W/o drilling any holes the ding is 90% gone, but the shop wants to drill the holes to finish the job.....is this not adviseable? The guys say the holes drilled are on the inside part of the metal (door jam) and when they are done, these plugs are put into the holes....so it all looks part of the car.

Would you guys let someone do that to your tl-s, for the sake of ding removal?

I personally would not drill holes in the body of my car. If possible can they fix the dent from the inside if you remove the door panel and get to i that way.

Not sure, but that probably would involve more time and open up the opportunity for the shop to damage the interior.

I told the shop I would see if I could live with the remnants of the ding before allowing them to drill away. There is no extra charge, aside from what I've paid...so I know it's not a sales ploy. The guy just feels to complete the job perfectly, drilling is necessary.

Well they already got into your door without messing the interior, all he needs to do is get into it from another angle (from the side). If u can live with it they way the ding looks like now then don't bother, but if they can fix it to look brand new and it cost u nothing more, well then..........
