Unhappy Door Ding

I got my first door ding on my car. Any know the best way to get it out? It did not break the paint and is about a quarter size.

Find a local ding repair shop...I belive they usually hammer it out from the inside. Seems to work very well on the cars I've seen done.

Cool

Yeah i have mine taken out by the guys that repair hail damage without touching the paint. Every year we have a hail storm in MN so i just leave the TL out of ten or so minutes so i have hail marks on all the sides and insurance picks up the tab for the door dings and the hail damage...best part is that it doesn't affect my rates any nor do i have to cover the deductible....

Cool

Same here. I had my TL about a week and my 5 year old (at the time) opened my wife's Explorer door into the passenger back door. Of course, I freaked out! I had a dent repair shop fix it ($85.00) then about 3 days later, I DID THE SAME EXACT THING!! I let that one go for about a year, expecting to get another one; but I never did. I had that one fixed about three weeks ago ($60). It was well worth the money to remove the flaw!

Thumbs up

I had 2 door dings that really bothered me but I didn't know what to do either, so I waited. Then, I was carrying a 17" monitor in my trunk and took a corner a little too fast and the monitor turned on it's corner and wedged itself in the trunk and left about a 7 inch dent from the inside out in the top of the trunk. This one REALLY bothered me. I went to my Acura dealer and they said that they had a company that would be able to fix it with no problem. They hooked me up with an appointment to have the car sent out to this company called Dent Wizard to get it fixed. Here's the best part! Even though they weren't doing the work, they still provided me a loaner car (a brand new fully loaded 2001 Integra.) Anyway, the car came out ABSOLUTELY PERFECT. I never thought it would look that good. Even the dealer was amazed.

They ended up taking out 3 door dings and the 7" line in the trunk. The cost was $330 plus tax which is very reasonable (I think). Especially reasonable when you consider the fact that my dealership is in Greenwich, CT... a VERY expensive area). I don't know if this company is part of a chain or something, but hopefully you feel better knowing that there is hope for those annoying dings.

you should diffently listen to these post and don't fix the dent yourself. call a pro. they'll fix it in less than a half hour and you'll never notice. the cost is well worth it. i used a dent remover person too and i could find were the dent was before. hope this helps?

My dealer in DE has brochures in the service dept for Dent Wizard. They must be a chain.
