Don't wanna seem like a moron but....

What's up with that "Tornado" thing? It sits in the air intake and is supposed to increase hp and MPG.

Are they full of crap?

I have seen the tornado work for hp and torque gains, as well as better gas-milage. Not on a TL though. I am considering picking up one but they are like $70.00plus shipping to Canada because they are not sold up here.

The tornado actually "corkscrews" and speeds up the air on intake. That can't actually do damage right? then why not do it even if it is only a "gas saver" and not so much a "power builder".

Does anyone know what(if there is any) the negative effect would be on the engine?

Let' stry some constructive critism, even though I love the "go buy a sticker that says Comptech if you want hp" comments.

dude, save your money, don't be a sucker.

good grief!!!!!

you don't think the acura engineers did their own flow testing on our engines??

if they could gain power, by adding something to simple as the "Tornado" then why on earth didn't they?? CUZ IT DOESN'T WORK.

that NIFTY sound you hear when our vtec kicks in (most appearant with cai) is the intake pulse that the engineers designed into the intake that helps force the air into the engine (almost like a ram air) all the tornado is going to do is disturbe the air flow and make it less efficiant and loose its its effectivness

The tornado goes along the lines of those As Seen On TV products........they looks cool and promise so many things but in reality are total garbage.

it might actually restrict airflow for our engines, so that could be a very negative effect. on most cars though i dont think it would have a negative effect.

save your money and put it towards a cai or a vtec controller. dont feel bad about asking questions though. everyone has to learn some time.

Dude, do a search on it on any car forum, you'll see what it really is. And if you already did do the search, why oh why are you still asking about it???

Anything that restricts intake air flow is not a good
thing.

Get a grip....

Unfortunately stores and infomercials like As Seen on TV capitalizes on gullible people who's been had with a little false marketing push.

You're better off with a drop-in K&N.
