when ur driving around and u c another TL and that person trys to show of like his TL is faster than urs.....instead of pulling over to say wats up hows it going....they tailgate the hell out of you and then try to pass you...

i was on hillside the other day and this 3rd gen pulls up next to me and start revving really hard....then he floors it ans leaves.....pulls over by mcDonalds....i was liek waht the hell is this lol

 

that never happened to me but dont you hate when you are cruzing around and you see some 100 year old woman driving the same car as you? or some fat white trash bitch giving you props. it makes me wanna sell the damn thing.

It wasn't me, I wouldn't do that to another TL.
I only do that when people are driving 50 in the left lane

 

I would let them pass, and I will pass them later on. they can't go anywhere. Unless they want to pass everyone and kill themselves, just make sure they don't block the traffic.

speakin of encounters, i was at the library today with and a modded TL pulls right next to me. falken wheels, lowered and exhaust, i rolled down my window and started to talk to him but he seems completely clueless

That usually doesn't happen to me. Just two days ago some young guy in a black TL-S w/body kit on PA 276 east did a slight flyby on me, but it was more out of respect. He was in the lane next to me a few car lengths back and when he passed I rolled down my window and smiled, dude smiled back and we just followed each other through traffic. I wonder if that guy is on the boards?

 

i had a cl-s line up with me at a red light .. i gave him the respectful head nod and we took off a bit at the light. i hit 60 n decided to cut it off since im not the racing type and id be racing essentially the same car as me anyway. he probably hit 85-90 n threw his hazards on like he accomplished something?? i met a few ppl from AZ around my area though who are chill kids... i dont see too many young people driving the tl though ... thats why i chose to buy it im into being different and driving something a little more mature than an srt-4 or something similar..the tl fits my classy personality better :-D hahah

I hate it when two semitrucks decide to be asses and hold up both lanes on a two lane highway. That really irritated me and almost made me late for class. The truck drivers caused so much traffic and they were driving side by side, perfectly.

That's happened to me once on the Robert Moses bridge over the summer, guy had a 3G TL pretty much stock. He was in SS and kept inching up/falling back, so he fell back, I put it in SS when he got close I nailed it and walked him by 2 cars then put the cruise at 65mph.

Usually when I see another nice TL I give a nod, or they give a thumbs up and I do the same. People need to relax sometimes. lol Everyone wants to race all the time or show off.



That's never happened to me, actually when I went to get my haircut there was nail salon next to it and some girl in her late 30's pulled up next to me with a SSM 02 TL-S and complimented me on how clean my car was and asked about the OEM kit because she really liked it.

 

this is precisely why we all need to get together in some really southern point in cali, drive over to florida, make our way up to new york, then back to washington, then go diagonally texas, and cruise around the midwest in a 500 TL entourage. actually, this has nothing to do with the thread, but we should

That one reason made my supercharger worth every penny to me. These guys with these stock 3 gen's would always assume their car was faster or nicer then mine. They pull off from the light all fast and I love smoking them for that. These guys would always ask me at the next light "hey man what do you have done to that thing" and would just say ”just a K&N drop in filter”. I’m glad I never ran with a supercharged 3 gen…they would have beat me. All just a memories now

hahaha we had like 12 of us caravaning to the ronjon meet during the summer. atleast 5 of us got pulled over by one state trooper blockin off 3 lanes of traffic. c0v3rr1d3, DJpensive, clsstock, me, and the rest gotta way while AMGala, drgncivic, a tsx, my boy with a 07 TL-S and one other guy got busted lol

 

lol i mention something about this recently. its pretty annoying when this person has his music turned up all the way and his car is totally stock and he acts like his car is the SHIT and he floors it at the light acting like his car would smoke mines..

and im really tired of chick drivers that drive the exactly same car as mines.. they think they are the shit with a stock car with just tint and cut u off outta no where.. like want to show off their car to me when i have the same car..

yeah im a young guy in a TL and all my friends think its an old person car yet my car is faster and i get more compliments from girls then they do with there car. im in central jersey and i havent see too many modded TL's since i got mine over a year ago.

 

I don't drive around looking for races but I also don't back down. Usually it's some moron ricer in his Honda Civic/Dodge Neon/CRX with an annoying, crappy rice muffler and an intake. Yet for some reason, they think that's going to make their piece of faster than anything on the road. Most of the time they start tailgating me on the freeway and they floor it to pass me. Not a big deal..... unless they look at me like they think they're the shit. Showtime!! Put the car into sportshift, drop into 3rd , they try to keep up but soon realize they can't and there you have it, smoked rice!!

hahaha yeah I know what you mean... the other day outside a store, I was waiting for a friend inside my TL. I was parked and this old guy with my same car, same silver color, parked just besides me. He came out of his TL looking at mine like hi's was way more better. I was like "give me a break as*...," what the hell is wrong with people having the same car? why is always a competition? is stupid !

My Car was more prepared with the Type S tail lights, Body kit, Wheels and Rims... and you come and park besides me to act like a complete ass... sdfghjsdfghjk hate that ! lol

When I still drove the TL-S, no one really dogged me or tried to race me except for this CL-S once from a stoplight, and this other clown in an F150. I never played along because its pointless, though the idiot in the F150 pissed me off.

We both happened to increase speed to beat a yellow, and he somehow took it as a challenge to race. So being an idiot, he goes side-by-side with my car, then floors it half a block, and slows down to wait for me again.... then does the same, then gets caught in traffic. I laugh to myself as I see him in the side mirror, then a few seconds later he passes up a few cars, swerves 2 lanes over and cuts me off, then taps his brakes in front of me, and floors it again. The teenager in me wanted to just smoke him badly.... but its not worth it. Meaningless victory... and if I get caught I would be screwed.

I drove the TL-S for about a year, and only had those 2 encounters pretty much, might have missed a couple. I never instigated them nor tried to coax anyone else. In the 1 month that I've had my Camaro, I've had a Mustang, V6 Charger sedan, and one or two other cars do the whole cut-off traffic then line up side-by-side coaxing thing. And just today, a lifted Dodge Ram tried to coax me too, flashed his lights while behind me, then cutoff the person next to him and tried to race me.

 

I hate when I see a TL that looks like crap...

I dont get that...I have had a few ppl try to keep up with me just speeding around town, but not really racing. I got more of that when I drove my Prelude (even though the TL is MUCH faster). I think this is because so many TL drivers are middle aged ladies...

 

nah it's just people trying to show off that they got a car just like ours and it's faster...but it's the same car...same J32 engine....

anyway i like when these guys with there civics and tegs come up next to me....the first thing i see them looking at is the big brake kit

 

lol and Sick remember the first u pulled ahead of me in fifth when we were at 110....remember u got the pulleys....and i got these big 18ince wheels, big ass subs in the back, 4 amps and a big plywood that they are bolted down on...and not the metion 24 speakers..... so i think i got an extra pound or two on you....
