The cop filed the report and my insurance company is waiting for it to get processed so they can get the info they need from the other party (other driver, insurance company, name of insured).
The guy was hurt so the EMTs took him to the hospital. The cop didn't show to the scene until the guy had went to the hospital. The cop told me he would get the info from the guy, which I assume happened if he put in the report later that day. My car was apparently scheduled to be taken from the garage to some Cadillac dealer whose garage is one of the best in the city to see if they can make repairs. Quite unlikely as the photos illustrate. I just hope I get enough of the money back when they total it out (the worth of the car that is). I'm guessing $12k-13k at best. But it would be sweet if they give me closer to $15k.

This brings back memories of my hit and run in 99...
My car looked bad, but not THAT bad...
I was lucky since some good hearted bystander took down the licence plate number of the lady who tried to get away with the deed. I went to a body shop in Beverly Hills, and the total repairs came out to around $6000. You probably can claim it as a total loss and get the money to get a new car. I would, since the car will NEVER be the same after it is repaired.
Good Luck man...

Well the car is officially totalled. I need to wait for the insurance to go through to see how much it's worth. The car was a '99 with 62k, excellent condition, Comptech sways ($300), and a brake upgrade ($700). I'm hoping atleast around $13,500. I would be really impressed and excited if it was more around $15,500. Anyone have an idea how much I might get back for it?

fsttyms1,
Little odd then that the 'frame' under my 99 was brought back into spec slightly after a meeting with a curb Not to mention two motor mounts, new tires, new rim, power steering repaired and the engine sub frame realigned
Whatever it has, it can be smashed

Money from insurance - if they give you too little, you can alway fight it. Just in case, check prices for '99 TLs with 60K-65K mileage, so you know what it would cost you to "replace" it. Because they should give you replacement value. Would be great if you can find Acura certified car like yours.
My cousins girlfriend totaled a Celica, insurance offered 12K, he got a few quotes from dealer for at least 14K, and was able to get 14.5K out of them - to buy the same year/condition car. Sorry, do not remember which insurance company they dealt with.
Just consider whatever they give you as "first offer". Good luck!

****... thats terrible!!!! I know exactly how you feel though. my tires blew out on the interstate, and I slammed into a ditch at 85mph a little over a month ago. I STILL have not gotten my car back. Yesterday was the first day it had actually started repairs on it after sitting out there on their lot for over a month. I had a few choice words with every single employee of that body shop. Then the previous day, I had gone over there to ***** at them, I actually took a ratchet thing, and a screwdriver, and went to work on my car myself. Bastards.... these idiots cant do their job. I hope you luck out with the insurance company, I know mine has been real good to me since all this crap has happened. Keep us updated!

Well I finally got the news. My dad called earlier this afternoon with the amount of money the insurance company will give for my car.
$17,600!
That's really good considering I've had the car for nearly two years, put over 20k on the odometer and bought it for only $1000 more than what they're giving me. Granted we put nearly that much into the car. Nevertheless, this is a surprise to me, and quite a nice surprise.
I'm sorry to you fellow TLers, but a TL is definitely not in the prospective list of replacement cars for the lack of a manual transmission.
Now to decide on the replacement...
