don't know what you got till it's gone

Man - I just traveled to Cleveland this weekend and got Chevy Malibu (02 not 03 - which I hear are better) - when I got back and got in my 03 Tl-S --- it was like comparing a golf cart to a rolls royce!

yah

they are using the saab frame for the new malibu lines - It was between a saab and the tl when I was getting my car - I was amazed to find out the saab 93 uses the cavalier engine (4 cy ecotech) granted they add a saab turbo and make it much more quiet and powerful - but dollar for dollar the TLS had it all over most every other car I looked at.

Yup... But Saabs are butt ugly IMO. Not to mention the fact they are a GM Product.

hmm

I actually thought the new 93 body style was pretty sharp - has some pretty wild stuff on it like 4 wheel steering - the salesman had me take an on ramp as fast as I could (circular) - could not make it slip - damn thing stuck like glue -

but they are kinda small inside and you either love or hate the interior - I was leaning towards it because you don't see many on the road - but the TLS won me over after one test drive.

I agree...I used to own a 96 3 series convertible...nice car...but when i get into the TL...it really is like comparing a golf cart to a Rolls...or a Lexus to an Acura...lol...I like Lexus and all, but as far as value and standard power...Acura has Lexus beat by a longshot...=)

True true you don't see many, certainly unique Yeah I love my TL-S. I went to a GM dealer to do the "Hot Button" game and the salesman was complimenting me on my car (no doubt a sales tactic). I told him I love it and he tried to ask me if I wanted him to call me if he finds a Yukon, etc. I said yes you can call me but I won't buy one :p I was honest with him, he said "ok... Have a great day". I love my TLS and won't trade it for anything.

My 02 Tl S rocks, and no probs yet-fingers crossed. I looked at 3 series, IS 300, and most of the comperable 30K to 40K vehicles, and the Acura is by far, the best bang for the buck. NO QUESTION.

heh

hey now - some GM products rock - if they got smart they could really have a smoking line up - like taking that 275HP inline 6 in the trailblazer/envoy line and putting it in a sedan - with some style of course

They've got power. Agreed. Their quality or lack thereof will leave you with a > 3500 lbs rock in the road :p That's exagerate but when I had my Z06 I had to take it to the dealer twice in one week to replace both fuel sending units. Those weren't the only problems.

but the tl and a corvette are two different type of cars. comparing sports car to a sedan is a big difference.

but comparing a Honda/Acura product to a GM made product isn't. Granted we are having our fair share of tranny problems. I still say that isn't **** to GM. I don't know I just don't like them. that is just my opinion. Yes, I had one. I drove a 95' Pontiac Grand Am. That was my first car and definitely my last GM product ever!!!

There were tranny failures on the '01 Z06s too. That job is fun, you get to remove the whole rearend Yes the tranny is in the rear for weight distribution purposes. When I had my Z06 I loathed to have that done. I can see them leaving a bolt out or something lol. Oil consumption was another constant problem.

try owning a 2ng Gen AWD Diamond Star

the Eagle Talon TSI AWD - when you had to have the clutch replaced, it was a minimum of 800 bucks - they had to drop the AWD to get at the clutch!!

:lol2:

Acura is far and away better than Chevy with everything except sports cars, i.e. the Vette (no offense intended to NSX owners)

I agree performance-wise but not quality-wise. Having owned a Z06 I can attest to anamolies. The NSX is more exotic IMO, certainly not mass produced.

Actually no I haven't but I sat in one when I did the GM Hot Buy button (yes I would have a GM if I didn't have to pay for it... Well on second thought sell it and pay off my car :p ). It was, at first site, a decent looking interior. I'm not a big fan at all of GM interiors they are all the same and too shabby, plastic for my taste. They aren't bad looking overall (even with the GM interior), I just wouldn't spend my cash on one It's all personal preference

Yeah I sat in a MDX today when I took my car for an oil change... It's a VERY nice SUV, not too big and better gas milage than competitors. I think it's good value relative to SUVs (aka Tahoe, Yukon, etc.) -- well if it's ok to compare it to those, those may be a different class

All in all love my TL-S but if I were in your shoes I'd probably be lookin elsewhere too unfortunately.

I love my MDX! I love the new ones even more because it has more power and I think the "dual" exhaust and new lights looks nice but I still love my 02 MDX! Love my 02 TL-S even more though!
