Don't get anything from Wing West
I just bought a spoiler for my wife car a few weeks ago.
I called the customer service about the spring rod for the trunk (to hold the trunk up).
I also talked to the manager.
And they both rude to me one the phone.
At one time the manager hang up the phone on me.

Well, after I install the spoiler, now the trunk won’t open, cuz I need different spring rod for the trunk.
I have to pull the trunk up while I push the release button for the trunk. And the trunk won’t stay open.
I called them up and asking about the rod spring, if that parts should come with the spoiler.
And they shouldn't sell the spoiler without the rod spring, cuz make the trunk wont function properly.
They told me if the trunk spring that I have screw up. (It worked just fine before)
Because he said he never have this problem before and the spoiler not heavy enough make the trunk to wont open.
He said if the spoiler only weight 5lbs. (the spoiler weight about 15-20 lbs)
The way they talked to me just rude about it.
They said I shouldn't buy the spoiler from them.
And I said I wouldn't if make the trunk won’t open.
After we arguing for about 15 minutes the manager hang up the phone on me.
I called him back and bitching about him hanging up the phone on me.
I told him if he shouldn't do that and I'm not done talking to him, it makes the situation worst.
I think any customer service shouldn't hang up on customer.
After we arguing for another 5 minutes, I told him if I'm going to report them to "better business bureau" about the rudeness on the phone.
Because I know this is not going anywhere and I sick and tired of him being rude on the phone with me.

get used to it i did...the trunk doesn't look open but if you lift it opens, it just doesn't pop up 1/2 an inche like it used to, and trust me it slams shut if you don't open all the way, and if the winds blows and the trunk drops it will hurt alot, but on the plus side if i want to close the trunk i only have to life about an inche and theres enough weight for it close by its self,
if you want to fix the trunk problem you need to buy the spring for TLs with the oem spoiler, they are meant for the extra weight....

Cuz my wife talked to him also.
And she's born and raise here.
And I don't want the trunk drop on my wife especially she's being pregnant.
Cuz it is her car.
It wouldn't be good...

You need to understand that this is a tough group of people.
The problem that you are having is that the wing is too heavy for the original springs. The spoiler that I bought came with 2 new springs. The springs were designed for the heavier spoiler. The springs are a pain in the ass to install and you need a special "curved tool" to get them in. With the new springs, no problem. Below is a link to the instuctions showing the new springs and a link showing the tool.

Actually there's good info here for other considering a spoiler.
A lot of the add-on spoilers weigh enough that the OE trunk springs won't lift or hold the truck lid properly. If you're planning on adding or changing a spoiler, you need to plan on getting the upgraded springs. This is also true with some of the 3G add-on spoilers as well.
The issue the OP has is that WW didn't inform him of the added weight and didn't provide upgraded trunk springs.
WW probably could have done a better job of handling the situation. Hanging up on customer is pretty extreme (assumnig the customer is not abusive).

Guys KNOCK IT OFF. ( and you know who you are)
Agreed. What he needs is the upgraded torsion bars.
Rsoetidjo, Simply call your dealer or stop in and just tell them you added the spoiler to your car but the trunk lid wont stay open. (they should have enough brains to tell you exactly what you need) if not tell them you need the upgraded trunk springs.

I called a couple dealership.
I have to buy the spoiler to get the spring for the 03 TL model.
They told me for the 03 model the spring came with the spoiler as a kit. (they couldn't sell it seperatetly).
But they sell just the spring for 99 TL model. (weird isn't)
I know 99-03 basically the same car.
But I don't know if 99 have different trunk or not.
Does it???
Would it work for 03?

They probably didn't feel that your issue was a problem they could fix. They sold a spoiler and nothing else; they didn't advertise that they had a trunk spring for sale with the spoiler or that they could fix such a problem.
Wings west doesn't manufacture trunk springs, nor do they need to; a stiffer trunk spring is offered by Acura already and I believe somewhere in fine print in the papers with the WW spoilker, there's some language that you will need stiffer trunk springs for the WW spoiler. I'm certain there is cause I remember reading it when I bought my WW spoiler, and I went to a dealer and bought the stiffer trunk spring for my 02 TL-S.
And as for the part of hanging up on you, imagine if some guy who's yelling and screaming at you, in some barely understandable english, calls you at your place of business. You've already told him the problem, and that there's nothing you can do, and he just continues to scream in some heavy accent that just doesn't make sense. I know hanging up isn't the most cordial way of dealing with such a problem, but believe me, I've had my fair share of people with either poor english or heavy accents, bitch at me for an hour over a problem that wasn't my company's problem and the best way to deal with it sometimes is to just tell them "i'm sorry, its not an issue we can help with" and just hang up.
Now, with that said, it's inappropriate to say "don't buy things at WW," considering that many ppl have bought things from them and have no complaints. I bought both the WW spoiler and WW rear lip and actually think WW makes great quality products for our car (and trust me, our cars have very little in the aftermarket exterior parts segment).
Now that I'm done playing devil's advocate (sorry if it sounds like patronizing), here's a helpful tip. Try calling Ray Laks Acura and ask them for a stiffer trunk spring for the 02-03 TL. I'm sure any Trunk spring from the years of 99-2003 will work on your 2nd gen.
If you're dealer tells you, that you need to buy the spoiler, they're full of shit. Go to another dealer that will sell it to you seperately. I bought the trunk springs and only the trunk springs from Ray Laks for cheap (like around $50).
Also, if you want to install the trunk spring yourself, I suggest getting the Honda trunk spring tool. I've tried doing it without the trunk spring tool and I almost lost a finger. I got the trunk spring tool, tried it again, and finised installing the trunk springs in less then 5 minutes.

But about my conversation on the phone with the manager from WW, I wasn't yelling and screaming.
Even after he hang up the phone with me.
My wife also talked on the phone with him, and she can understand english allright. Cuz she born and raise here (she's american).
PS: does anyone know if the spring for the accord interchangeable with 2nd gen TL
