The place where are pasted is barelly close to the radiator other than that Ill pray for the "3M Heavy Duty" double tape to hold up. Ill see when I come back home if it has slided or Melted? by the Heat..

Well DIY or write Up is pretty straight forward youll need a Pair of SMD stripes 12cm out from this popular web page that sells them I cannot remember the name and since im in the iPhone I dont have the link here a Solder and lots of 16AWG Cable!

With a Single Set of 2 Strips of 12 CM you can do All of This:

The Hood and the Trunk Using a Single Pair!!!
Ill do a Simple Write Up when I come back home since typing in the iPhone is a PITA...

Nope everything is fine after coming home (A full 60mile Trip + A/C) the SMD are slightly warm cant say the same about the radiator that is just an Inch or 1/2in away.

The strips are positioned in the upper section in the hood to stay as far away from the headers/engine radiation so no posible melted situations here in any extreme escenario the strips will just slide and stay near the Hood Lock.

iPhone Pics (Sorry About Quality):

I always open up my hood in the dark and struggle to find a flash light. This would be perfect for those situations. For the people that worry about melting or burning of the leds, I would try to fab a cooling/separtation plate for it when the hood is closed.

Creative and great tool. Good work Skirmich.

Thanks guys.

Well like I said 2x 12cm SMD Strips will be good enough for:

2x Trunk Lighs
4x Interior Ambient Lights
2x Dome & Map Light
2x Hood Service Light

Total Cost: About 25-30 bucks Shipped for a Pair of 12cm SMD Strips.

The Strips can be cutted every 3 SMDs so in the photo dont mind the six SMD strip I cutted it to 3 SMDs and solder the remaining to the hood Mod.

This is how the cable looks like coming from the Hood:

A Simple Loom Cover and its done! The lights are grounded right there since the Hood Ground was very weak the lights up dimmly, So just ground it there it worked like a charm.

This is like the Ones I Ordered out of Ebay but these are 6"cm instead of 12"cm So youll need 2 Sets if your planning to do the whole car like I did = Total Cost: 25 bucks.

Mines are the 6K White.

http://www.v-leds.com/Strip-Lights-L...orLanding/true

If You just want to do the Hood a single pair will do and you can have an extra for the Trunk.

P.S: Dont Mind that is for a Tundra they are just Universal SMD Strips with a Tundra prepared socket for the OEM Footwell light, Just cut It and use the cables.
Also: The incorporated 3M Adhesive is a POS and it will detach so just buy a "Heavy Duty Twin Tape 3M" from Autozone that thing its incredible stronger.

Just to Add up, Nothing have gone wrong with the lights.
They havent even move an inch and thats with the whole day driving stop&go like maniac with A/C, The strip is just cold to the touch when I pop up the Hood it is a really Nice Spot so I recommend it if anyone will give something like this a go..

L8ters.

A couple of months ago I was taking a road trip from NC back here to Jersey.

My fuse went out for my Amp so I had to go replace it.

I had to hold the hood up with my upper back/head (Hood struts went out years ago lol) while holding a big Mag Lite flash light (Cop flash light size) and fiddle around unscrewing things.

This would of helped.

Yeah my Hood Struts were also shot a year ago it was a PITA to do anything with my hood open had to use my break bar as a Hood holder lol...
Hood Struts best inversion you could do if you mess around the engine yourself doing DIYs....

You dont really apreciate Hood Struts importance until you really need them...

Im having Problems with the location of the Death Switch my firs tought was to install it somehow into the Hood Strut that will be pressed when the hood lowers but it come out that the Hood Strut doesnt have any room aside from what it is needed to lower Sooooo......

My new position is besides de VSA fuse Box, Since the death switch can make its switch longer if needed I just need to pull it to make it work but I cant find a proper way to attach it. I was going to use more 3M Twin Tape to paste it there but I dunno if it would work since its under constant pressure with the hood down + Engine Heat i think it will probably detach.

Well I will keep looking for a Solution.
